Default my sound system (advice)

My audio im setting up in my saxo

SPL Dynamics Comp's (ready to order) -
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/dyna...9dch1u0mecg4o1
Run off Alpine 4 Channel Amp (which i already own, older model but same outputs and look pretty much identical) -
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpi...9dch1u0mecg4o1

i know the amp i have and those components will sounds great just not to sure about subs... i can get this amp off my mate for the subs so ideally will run a sub off this and SPL subs look good quality... anyone know about there sound quality or the mass of bass it produces?

Alpine mono amp (same older version but same outputs and look, can get off mate at a good price)-
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpi...9dch1u0mecg4o1
SPL Dynamic sub (will order when got amp off mate) -
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/dyna...9dch1u0mecg4o1

Is it better to have a 2 Ohms or 4 Ohms sub or is it no difference in comparison to the mono amp...?
thanks for advice and oppinions

# Per channel into 4 ohms: 200W x 1 (1.0% THD)
# Per channel into 2 ohms: 350W x 1 (1.0%)

so you want a 2ohm load at the end...

which is either 2ohm svc, or 2 x4dvc IIRC

so its like the resistance at 2 ohms it has more RMS meaning better power and sound...
does the amp effect anything to do with the Ohms?

lest start from the top:

the comps and amp are a good combo (ive set this combo up in a mates car and its quality) very punchy midbass, and soft hi's

as for the sub / amp

the amp doesnt kick out too much power.. only 350wrms at 2ohm

imo i want at least 500wrms@2ohms (obv this isnt the same for everyone)

the sub if run off that amp will be underpowerd as its rated at 350wrms@4ohms where the amp will only give it 200wrms@4ohms

as usuall. its all about how much cash you have?

and its not just about equiptment. id look to spend at least £60 on wires, £90 on sound proofing, and £50 - £70 on a good well made custom box - all of this is before you buy a sub and amp

remember a sound system is 25% equiptment, and 75% installation

thats 200 quid gone before i even got a sub or amp lol
im not going to be going that far into my sound system just want some bass to add to the component setup in the front...
i dont have money for the sub or mono amp atm either that really

that why i thought it would be good to get my mates amp off him at a low price then just run a sub off that even though its power outputs aint great.

alpine will still be good quality though

what sub would be better to run off that amp then?
as i am a student and have very little money as i have expensive hobbies!

also for a while do you think it would be okay to run with just the amped comps and save money for a better amp and sub to run in the rear or is that a silly idea?
will the amped comps sound awfull on their own?
i just want better sound soon but quality aswell...

well if you dont want anything special id get the amp off your mate and run this off it:

no point buying a sub then think.. actually ill get a better amp

imo, decide on what your buying then buy it over time

or: buy the amp 1st.. this will give you a wider possibility of set up options when it comes to chosing a set up

nope amped comps will not sound awful on their own, for the money i wouldnt reccomend any other combo of comps and amp

unless you set it up like a twat and turn the bass setting all the way up on your HU they will sound great

something else to consider running off the alpine mono is:

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/hert...9mniasetr3kbq1

it wont play as loud as the SPL but quality will be higher

and imo in low end budget audio, most 12"s are a bit "flappy" so id opt for a 10"

saying that the 12" spl will be good

as said in my previous post, its all about installation, anyone can spend £1000 on equiptment. but it will sound shockingly bad if not set up properly

would you suggest i get the components setup then and try get my mates amp for like 30 quid for the means time... and use my current subs which is 2 10" mutant (shit but will do for a while)
then get a better sub and amp later...
or get the comps my mates amp and spl 12" sub and just have that setup?
i suppose ill get the comps and fit them then decide from there...
sound deadening i really want it but cant justify 80-90 quid for the stuff lol
u will defo say that it is worth it but i cant see the value for that ammount can u suggest any cheaper (less amount of sound deadnening just for the doors (comps maybe)
thanks mate

all depends on your cash situation.. my new set ups been on hold for months, because i cant afford the rest of the equiptment to finish it off.. theres no shame in it

set up your comps and amp for now

theres no point spending on a sub and amp knowing that youll want to upgrade asap

just for the comps, on CAD theres 4sq.ft of deadening for £15 will do a few layers on the insides of your doors

oh and your right, i am going to say its worth it ha!
