Suited and booted ready to race...
Did a shoot at the weekend for a few things relating to a mag, car shots etc.. but also needed some stuff of the guys in their new suits.
Location was erm... their barn, not much room for me to put the lighting anywhere, but ran 1 ranger head with octabox for the left, then lower power another ranger with wide reflector on the right + 580 on full whack behind them resting on a chair to try and reduce some epicly bad shadows we had haha!
Done some more processing on this than I usually would, wasnt really happy with the rushed effort, it didnt have the impact that they wanted and needed a bit of tidying. Using LR and cs3.
Original photo
And after the tweeks/tidy..
Now just need to get some better/bigger spaces to really test out the lights.

whites look pretty blown to me?
Also might look better if you got them to look at each other, or at least something, they both look pretty blank
Still better than what I could produce though

Its blown out on one persons leg, bit annoying but was done in a rush. The whole pic with everything hammered white is as it was wanted not blown out its just been cloned, it can either be used like that or cut out easily for use. They chose the look as they didnt want to look gay

ahh ok, fair enough
Personally, Im not keen on the amount of different lighting on the first one, i.e how it is lighter in the middle, but i suppose thats just my preference

Hence why i edited it or did you not read that lol
580 was quickly chucked in to try and remove the shadows that we had, needed to be better placed tbh and slightly lower than full whack lol
One from the bin to show you what I mean
Shadows - horrific.

Wouldnt be easy to synch, I can go to 3, as my trigger set I have 2 for my rangers and 1 universal one, although i guess we could put my 580 in master and the rest in slave mode but then thats weather dependant
I said to sayer be fun to just dick about with gear when its not for a client and so not under a what they want type thing.
Can just smash in loads of flash in daylight for atmospheric crap jumping over walls etc...

sounds good mate, if we can team up a day when there is some track action on too then we can do flash stuff in the morning and brands hatch in the afternoon - they do good sausage baguettes lol and would like to test out some panning stuff on the 7d
all the events on the calendar here are free of charge ( you have to view the car / bike calendar separately )

ps my car looks rubbish atm lol standard front bumper is back on whilst i repaint the 182 one, 182 exhaust is off, have a 172 bumper primered in the garage, just need to order paint

er would be tough tbh, for a start id not want to leave all my lighting in the car at brands. its worth to much lol!
Grub = allways go to one of the local pubs, i tend to go to a couple in the midday break cheaper and better food.
I might be up there soon though, can let you know if I am, either that or a shoot around guildford way as iirc thats not to far from reading.

you only live 15 mins from brand hatch drop your gear off at your house tbh those club days are pretty quiet in terms of people. but yeah would be cool to catch up sometime wherever it is. maybe also do something crazy like a late night / early morning london drive - canary wharf / south bank ? saw some guys on cliosport did it - kind of tunnel run style, might be fun

Just want to fuck about with loads of lighting related stuff tbh. I need another body + 24-70 in my life atm though!

yeah i guess its a bit different when you have lambos etc all around you, 2 clios and a saxo isnt really the same league lol, yeah is expensive this photography thing, i still need a battery grip for the 7d, spare batteries for it an 8GB CF card for shooting video. Then i could do with getting a new pc as this one cant hack it especially trying to edit 1080p video. then also want to sort out my rig properly - go with sayers setup so need two avenger suction mounts, some superclamps and a magic arm
