Default MyProtein help

...me again xD i'm new to this game and would rather do it right than than wrong.

Firstly, i' do not want to add weight.. i'm happy with my current weight and consider myself to have the right amount of weight to turn into muscle (at the moment). I'm 5 foot 11 and weigh 14 stone 3 pounds. I would like to tone my arms, chest and belly the most but do an all body workout

So.. I don't want to be taking some of these powders/tablets that are going to add weight, I do however want to take the ones that are going to prepare my body, heal my body and help focus on muscle growth

I've been reading in the different catagories on the site and reading reveiws but most of it is still a blur to me

I would like some recomendations for a pre work out, post work and a something to focus on muscle growth purchase

This is the most popular pre work out http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/pulse anybody tried this?

There is only one post workout http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/recovery_xs

Would these 2 help me through alright? I think im also going to be buying a bag of http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/superfood_xs purely as a health gain, the reveiws sound promising and im sure it can only do good than harm

Thanks

Just to add; I bought these just to see how effective these products are but havn't been using them long enough to tell a difference..

They both say take as soon as possable after a session for best results... but would you need both? You could just use 1 couldn't you?

firstly, you dont have the right amount of weight to turn into muscle, nothing in your body turns into muscle, you burn fat, and increase the size of your muscle. nothing changes state. so a weight gainer might help you, if you are wanting to get bigger,

for some1 stating out, you could look into something like maximuscle cyclone, this is an all in one, im sure my protien will have the same sort of thing. ive been out of supplements for too long, so im not quite sure what is on the market. pharmagain is good, as is maximuscle, but there pricey, and people try to get results from items, which are £2 cheaper.

I can only go by my experience and what I'm taking. I don't weight gain, I keep it steady and am around 10% BF, I'm more into lean muscle. I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and cycle around 50 miles a week, maybe more now the weather's better.
I take http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/true_whey for my protein, I've tried most of the others, Impact whey protein, Isolate etc, and for flavour and the fact it contains some BCAA is good enough for me. I take it every morning with glutamine http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/...yl_l_glutamine, lunchtime and then after workout with glutamine again. I take this: http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/creapump before my workout and on days I'm not working out, I take this: http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/...ne_monohydrate. I take it for 2 months then have a month off, that works for me but I'm sure other people have a different routine. I also take http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/...rnitine_(alcar) in a black coffee when I get to work and http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/cla with my lunch. Like I said, it's what works for me and it's been trial and error to find the right mix of everything. Hope that helps. The main thing is a good diet and protein because it's rare you eat enough protein. Have a read of those links and see what you think

as you say mate you're new to this so start basic with just a whey protein powder, otherwise you'll just confuse yourself with too many supplements. i suggest myprotein impact whey protein (i buy the chocolate smooth). this will heal and build your muscles you rip during training. you can always add new supplements later when you're properly into it. i spent about a year taking just whey protein before i tried any other products, and even now it's all i take. a good food intake and routine is all you need really

so for diet you want high protein (try to take some in with every meal), low carbs (as you say you're not wanting to gain/lose size), low sugar, low fat/sat fat. carbs before gym are a good idea though for energy, especially if weight lifting. then just drink a shake straight after to replenish your muscles. start off just one shake a day then when you think you're stomach is ready maybe have one in the morning aswell. i currently have 3 shakes a day - one in the morning, one after gym and one before bed

and for training i'd be lifting weights 3/4 times a week plus cardio maybe 2/3 times a week

all that will tone you up nicely without any big changes in size or weight

Thanks lads..

I currently go the gym every other evening, I do a warm up jog/run for 10 mins then move onto the weights and do an all over workout, I currently drink one of these as soon as I get in the car after a session http://www.lucozadeshop.com/product/S03480.html as well as http://www.lucozadeshop.com/product/S03490.html

sounds good mate well soon as you're comfortable i'd start doing seperate groups on seperate nights. each group once (maybe twice) a week. could just start with one group per session - chest one night, bis the next, shoulders the next, etc. do that for a while. then increase it to two - chest and tris, legs and shoulders, back and bis, etc

Stick with the Upper body workout for first 6 months or so - then maybe look into sep muscle group workouts..

You can search all day mate and still be confused, everyone has their own take on what works for them so do what you feel you are gaining from..

Im still a newb to all this but Ive been given some brilliant adivce from the lads on the forum. Powellyboi for example

Id say that read through the info on this site:
http://scoobysworkshop.com/nutrition.htm

Some REALLY good stuff on their, explains common misconceptions and clearly explains what DOES work. Your diet is key to getting your body where you want it.

You sound in a similar situation to me, you dont plan to get big, but you want to be more defined?
