I quite liked the rep system actually... although i have to admit i would rep people simply for making me roar with laughter.
but then again that does earn rep in my eyes haha.
I think the bars that Simo mentioned right at the start of the thread is a good shout. Really does look horribly bare over to the left.

Interesting reading. Im really happy this has finally happened and mostly because theres some really good ideas been mentioned in this thread about alternative systems that can be looked at.
Theres also a whole host of rubbish as well and the usual over reaction. Most folk wont remember when the infraction system was first announced. All merry hell broke loose about people never coming back here etc... Most of them have posted in this thread...
A few points I wanted to cover:
All rep showed names. Wouldnt make a blind bit of difference. Most abuse wasnt the one off rep for negative or postitive and most actually had names left...
More spam in general chat. I doubt it, in my eyes general chat boils along nicely and has its fair amount of banter threads that go untouched or get locked when they reach 20 pages, which really is fair enough.
People wont help now they cant get rep? Really? Then you need to go outside more.
This place was here long before rep. Rep was not adding any value to the community anymore. Once something isnt adding value then its lost its purpose and its time it left.
