Default Aluminium thermostat housing seal assistance

Potentially a stupid question here! In the attached photo my aluminium thermostat housing has what looks like a rubber bead on the sealing face, however, this is absolutely flush with the aluminium sealing face so in theory will not reseal. I haven't started picking at it just in case its part of the housing so I'm trying to find out if this is a replaceable o-ring type seal (remove the old and install the new) or is the rubber vulcanised to the thermostat housing? my other idea was to leave the rubber in and run a small bead of Wurth supper RTV over the top of the original rubber seal.

Anyone any ideas if the seal is an off the shelf part?

It’s just a standard seal. Can get them anywhere for pennies.
