Default VTS wheels on a VTR, yup bolt issues

Hi folks, I'm a long time lurker and have enjoyed many pearls of wisdom from this forum over the years. Had my VTR 10 years now and finally decided to treat it to some VTS wheels and I'm having a nightmare finding the correct bolts. On my standard 2002 VTR bolts, the shaft is too wide at the top so they can't seat in the wheel correctly making them too short.

From hours of hunting I've discovered there were 2 versions of VTS and VTR alloy wheel. The bolts for each were both flat seated but one was designed to work with the spare steel wheel whilst the earlier one needed an adapter attached to the spare wheel. I assume I've bought the earlier style VTS wheels, which are still flat seated bolts but a different version.

Apologies for resurrecting such an old topic but I've not found a definitive answer, after visiting Citroen, Peugeot and every garage I could think of I'm at a loss! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Flat seated bolts with the non sticky out bit are what you need. they're pretty much the same diameter all the way up.

The ones you have are fatter at the top, because the fat bit has a taper so it can be used with steel spare wheel.

So sounds to me like you need the earlier "thinner" type one.
