I have emailed the club team and just waitign for a respone as i have been able to negotiate a discount scheme for club memebers.
5% off on individual orders and 10% on orders of 5 or more (on a group buy basis) - This will be the only saxo club that benefits from the discount, (should it be approved )
Also there are asome quyality 2nd panels available at the minute, I will get pictures up asap just incase they are to any people's taste etc.
Also weighed the fully stripped down door as a bare panel, it weighed just under 14kg, fully trimmed, 25kg !!!
Are there any people as mad as me on here that would have an interest in composite doors ? I have a detailed costs now and also cost of moulds etc. Will psot shortly.
Cheers

Does that help explain it a bit better ?
Grantley1988 - There is currently not a standard fitment splitter available, although there are aftermarket larger carbon ones that I can get ?
Like this ?
With regard to door cards, which ones ? flat sheet or 3 peice moulded ?
Thanks
Bic

Grantley - a flat sheet approximately 800mmx600mm and to your requireed thickness is £50 for wet lay carbon or £100 for autoclave cured carbon.
Carbon fibre/Composite doors:
Pair of doors in 2x2 twill or plain weave, wet lay carbon & composite with full inner structure as per OE panel = £1495.00 (with discount to club members etc)
Full carbon inner and outer = £1995.00
GRP = £1195.00
Cheers

shit the bed Bic, thats a terribly high price lol
I'm sure its about right though realistically
I had the oportunity to look at an old alfa touring car and they saved weight on the doors by drilling holes in every flat part of the door. It weighed virtually nothing and only cost the time in labour

Kam - lol, yes i need to find some info somewhere to start understanding the whole drilling hole thing which can be terrible if done wrong, but if done right can be strong and lose the weight as you say.

SeanP - not as much as you think, this one i think would go for a snip of what should normally, as its in the way etc, potentially not suitable for roadcar though as not complete wheel.
Vtech eater - the peice is designed for mounting a stack dash or similar (can be templated to suit of course) so yes using standard clocks would not work.

stack dashes have all the functions you or I will ever need, just remember to get the road one that requires the additional speed sensor so you can have a working speedo lol
