id say that looks 2-2.25" but without seeing it i would know..its too small and far away to view
for reference a 3" pipe is fucking huge..
this is 2.5"...which is also quite big for a saxo...3" would be a nightmare to fab up and fit to such a small car with tunnel and ARB's etc the way they are..suppose it depends on your ground clearance

ground clearance is min of 75 mm from lowest point of the car.. and can you see where im coming from now? they are huge for the car but seems to be making good power with what your allowed within the regulations

ibwouldnt go bigger than 2.25" tbh
im running a 2" on my 106 with over 185hp so flow certanly isnt an issue meaning a 3" will just have no back pressure and be shite for trying to get quiet i bet too

Looks like 2.25 is the size ill be needing then :-) does anyone know where you can get the plates for the downpipe that bolts to the manifold? And presumably a joint half way, or just buy an old shagged mk1 down pipe without cat in it and cut the top off?

Got a few tests on exhausts after reading back over all this and talking to a few mates so well see, will prob use 2-2.25 for the main exhaust section and will go from there ;-)

I very much doubt you will be doing 500 miles a year.
If you want to be competitive you'll need to do plenty of test days, more mileage.

The races are 13 mins + 1 lap so maybe 20-25 miles a race... Yeah a few test days on top but not gonna be like 2500-3000 miles a year, no where near...

back to the original question .. if this is for a racecar then longevity is not a consideration.
You make the exhaust as thin as you feel you can get away with.
