Wrinkle paint doesn't look very wrinkle-y? Don't know what I should be expecting though...

It's difficult to show on an iPhone lol. It's wrinkly trust me.
Gav, I'll look into it one day but it'll be a year or two if I decide to go ahead with it.

Ah ok, mine came off with massive ease (which was worrying). Normally you'd need to use a massive breaker bar or a bit of scaffold. They're an absolute nightmare.
Make sure it's in gear and get a friend to stamp on the brakes, that might help.
If all else fails, I'm sure you can undo the 4 x 10mm bolts off the pulley itself and it'll fit over the big central bolt. Try that.

I managed to get the crankshaft bolt undone after I found something I could you to lock it in place. Thought I was on a roll until I had to take the power steering and air con off, then take the air con bracket off all for 1 piggin bolt.
Are you wanting to upgrade the brakes at all?
I'm pinching some carriers off a mate so i can run 1.8 discs, been told it makes a nice improvement.

My brakes are pretty much useless at the moment, but because the car is locked away and not used - I'm unsure of the issue. I've been told that its got brand new discs and pads fitted so they might need bedding in, but I'm going to rebuild the calipers anyway for peace of mind.
I'd definitely recommend the 1.8 setup though.

I've just found some old pictures of the car in 2010ish from the previous owner.
Looks like it was a really nice example. Won't be long til it's loved again.
After pay day I'll be stripping down the rear calipers and rebuilding them with new components. The fronts were replaced with new items back in 2009, so they shouldn't have failed yet. I'll still strip them down to have a look. There's something wrong that's for sure.
Apologies for the boring updates, once all of this repair work is sorted I can start on the shiny bits!
Tom.

Yeah not sure why you'd need to remove the aircon etc. The power steering needs to be moved slightly to access the waterpump inlet bolts but its not essential.
Jay, no this was a few years back. The interior has all been changed too unfortunately

Gaskets etc have turned up today so I can crack on with the cambelt / waterpump. Only a month after I started but ahwell no need to rush such things. I've also got my brake caliper rebuild kit in the post.
All seems like boring stuff but it means that I can get the car to a Bodyshop ready for its welding. Then the fun can begin.
Updates when the thing runs again.

Yep, I've always wanted a British racing green sportscar so it's staying green.

Well, Ive finally sorted the coolant leak.
I've now done the cam belt and water pump 4 times in february alone, did this one in 3 hours lol. Pretty sure i could do one with my eyes closed now.
I've also rebuilt the brake calipers and they feel fantastic.
It's now ready for it's MOT but I'll probably do a few pretty bits and bobs first.
Then I can sort the welding and enjoy the car in the summer!
