Cue stories of 'oh, my mates dads step sons twice removed had one and it was really fast/slow/comfortable/thirsty/ugly (delete where applicable to experience).

Asking on a Saxo forum?! Google it, go on the appropriate owners club website, take advice from anywhere but here I'd say...

from experience,

Great cars, well made, quite capable, looks alright, not very exciting though.

Also awaits gibbo

in my eyes the only good e46 is an M3. As said before an E36M3 is better. and ALOT cheaper.

very good cars. i own the e36 328 sport, but have driven my mates 330 coupe a couple of times. lookout for the coolant bottle as they are prone to cracking and leak coolant. make sure of the usual things like service history and any body repairs. check for any knocking from the front and rear suspension as this could be worn bushes or joints on the wishbones/anti roll bars. check all electrics work fully and that the front windows drop when you open the doors. im sure there are things youll be advised on from others on here about things ive probably missed.

I used to have an E46 330CI M Sport Coupe.

Was a good car, very comfortable, reliable, well built etc.

Not sure why you put down the year and miles though and nothing else

Sold mine a I didnt like RWD, was annoying in the wet as you had to drive stupidly slow or the traction control would kick in constantly and dampen the power, not very handy when coming onto a busy roundabout.

If traction control isnt on then you just spin around in circles with no effort.

Also it wasnt really worth the 19mpg, was quite boring tbh.

Also theyre cheap and depreciate, so I would never buy one again as theyre a cunt to sell on and you will lose a high percentage of money on it.

Thats the problem with RWD, in the wet, snow and ice it really is fecking useless.

worked on enough of them, i dont mind them but the e46 csl is sooooo much more of a car, at least you dont have to put up with smg2 on the 330!

rainy days and rwd make for a lot of fun!! nice and easy going on the tyres and you can hang the back end out with minimal effort = win win!

That I agree with, was lovely to hold drifts in the rain, top practice.

Pulling out of busy wet junctions and having to wrestle the rear end wasn't always so clever.

I drove a m3d for 6 months, AWD. It was quite a different animal, nice and reliable apart from what I heard on turbos blowing up on them. Really nice cars but indeed don't even think of going out in the snow and certainly don't push your luck in the rain.
