exhaust pipe

Just put my mk1 throught mot. As an advisory its says the pipe that sits between the cat con and silnce box is dateriating . But i also want a new back box as its bit rusty and does'nt look very nice or shiny lol. Should i just get a exhaust pipe that runs from cat con to silence box, and buy new back box, or should mi just get a complete new pipe from cat con that includes new back box ( i say new but i mean second hand good condition, if its cheaper than getting new)
and if i get full new exhaust should i get one that doesn't have a silence box on it?
Bearing in mind i have little cash and a 3 month old son
please help i know so little about car lol

if i was in your shoes i would buy a new center section and a nice backbox if thats what you want, possibly stainless so you wont have to replace it in a hurry if you keep the car for a while
