Default relocating power steering pump

A long with spot welding a few bits i am also wanting to relocate the battery to behind the passenger rear seat and relocate the power steering pump to behind the drivers seat, i was just wondering if anyone knows what type of hose, where i can get some and if anyone knows how much hosing i would need to get, i'd imagine it'll be braided hosing as it would make more sence to the ends, cheers rorz

Wouldnt it be better to have the PAS where it is as standard? Just making the car be balanced more weight wise? Id understanda if you were rallying and wanted to protect it if you idnt have guards, but id keep it where it is tbh! Unless its for asthetics. Same with the battery, or put it where most poeple do on the nearside in the boot.

I see I see!

Also (im not picking faults btw lol) is having a fuel tank inside the car on a road car MOT passable? Think I might have heard it isnt, not sure or you have something to abide by to make it pass. Assuming the car is used on the road too?

i wouldn't have thought so. but most people wont know whether it is a fail or not. so they will pass it to avoid hassle of looking it up

Nice to see a few lads following on with the in car fuel tank! get it right at the back!
I have looked it up, and i see no reason for it to fail, they check for leaks thats about it.
Im going to get the car weighed (corner) then once i see the results of that i am going to have a move about to find the best places for bits and bobs! I know there is alot of weight on the right hand-side of the car for obvious reasons.

have the fuel tank within the confines of a cage if you have one. as being non regulated tank it is just a skin of ally before the fuel. so a crash into the back and you WILL die. Most regulated tanks have different layers and materials before the fuel so can withstand deformation and impacts

Mine has rubber mounts for a tiny bit of play, and is not right up against the boot, start adding in more layers then you defeat the object of getting rid of the underneath tank (which is so much more heavier than my ali one)

not competing my car, so i have no reason for a rear end, unless someone thinks they are a track king.

just a thought. quite a big one. if you spin on track, backwards into a tyre wall. there's the paper rear end of a saxo between you and your fuel tank. no rubber bushes are gonna stop that

True, but what are you getting at? A fire hazard?

You could just fit the PAS pump on the battery tray?

i could but ideally want the engine bay as clutter free as possible as im moving the fuse boxes, ecu and battery inside so just thought move the powersteering pump aswell, but after looking at it i might leave it where it is and run some braided lines to it instead of the black 1s and run them under the slam panel and not over the gear box
