"think" you can also run it off the side of the head on the 16v as well (for oil that is)

but dont quote me on that as i dont know for sure

lots use them for turbo oil feed so id say that it would be right

but the one on the front of block for defo

water the last time i undid one

this is the forged omega vtr block from the supercharged vtr (yes i still have it lol)

Bottom of the thermostat housing theres a spare port stew... Will either have a plug in or an unused brown sensor...somert todo with when they have aircon.

Thread is m14x1.5 btw

Just for anyone else reading this later those plugs are replaced on JP4 heads with ball bearings - pita to get out, but once done, tap M10 as above and plug, and you've got your source

However.. The jp4 that sandy used as the base for jp's engine has the plugs!!!!

I've not seen many with ball bearings, most JP4s I've seen have had plugs. I prefer to take it from the block though, closer to the main oil gallery and pump. The head can bear pressure drops longer than the bottom end.
