i wouldnt buy them if somebody has "tried" them before.... your suppose to play music low through the speakers for awhile so they can reach there peak quality! if the previous person who "tried" them didnt do that... then they wont be as good as quality and could of possibly been battered to death blasting music out.

it's pretty hard to damage a speaker
they can take a good pounding
unless the manual specifically says "play on a low volume for 10 hours, gradually increasing in volume" (as rainbow components do) then theres no need to beat around the bush
go wild and turn them up

im just saying, if your willing to pay £200 for speakers, i wouldnt get pre used ones. My acoustic solutions speakers said in the manual play low for 10hrs then gradually increase them.... and ive had them for years now and there brilliant! ive heard more expensive speakers sound alot worse than mine.
you may know alot about speakers, but you will never know how the person before you treated them.
