Default K&n pannel filter oil

So going to get a k&n pannel air filter to upgrade the filter on my vectra, is it a simple swap with the current air filter? And I've read these filters need "oiling" what does this mean? Is that for when you clean the filter?

simple swap over so long as their the same size etc and oil is when cleaning and re charging the after market filter for when you clean it out.

So if I buy 1 tomorrow say, i should be fine to simply swap it over with the old 1? or do they need oiling first, being a brand new filter?

New ones will be fine, when you clean them (service interval) you re-oil them

They only need re-oiling every 50,000 miles roughly, you buy a kit from k+n.
