I cant help on part numbers as im not going to go through and find the latest ones.

Just go down to citroen and say what you need with the year of your car, and for mk1 parts say 1998.

Simple

Tried this today with not alot of luck. Got the old oil filter housing off easily however when it came to tapping the thread to block up the return valve i wasnt so lucky.

Im just going to point out to anyone trying this that you will not be able to tap a 10mm thread into a 8mm hole straight off. The tap needs the correct size hole for the thread to be cut into it. A 10mm tap has a pitch of 1.5mm so the hole you are tapping into needs to be 8.5mm.

This is why my attempts have failed, not sure how everyone else has done this but im just going to weld up the hole tomorrow instead and when it comes to mot time im just going to have to buy a mk1 exhaust with the cat in so i dont have to put on the old filter set up and such.

So as a word of advice to anyone else doing this, add an 8.5mm metal drill bit to your shopping list, drill out the hole then using your tap should be much easier!

after buying the mk1 4-2-1 raceland manifold and all the parts required for the oil filter relocation, it works out at almost exactly the same price to just fit the raceland 4-1 manifold that doesnt require you relocating the oil filter as its designed for the mk 2. and its less hassle, would take 20 mins to fit.

Does the 2nd O2 sensor have to have that sleeve?

This old hole was used for oil right, was it a oil return?

Surely its good practice to wrap some PTFE tape around the threads of the bolt? You don't want any oil from the blocking leaking out.

As for welding or clamping the joint of the manifold. There is a tapered joint to allow movement for the engine rocking back and forth when you rev it? If you weld the manifold joint you are likely to damage another joint in your exhaust system?

As for the sensor, i've read the whole thread and some peoples sensor has melted, are you sure a mk1 will fit? (I'm wrapping my manifold in heat wrap so it will help)

As for putting the Mk1 oil adaptor onto the Mk2 oil filter hole, can someone upload a picture of before and after the adaptor. I can't get my head round how the adaptor will attach to the filter housing.

Thanks

have there been any problems with blocking off the hole in block? e.g leakages? was thinking about using locktite but then wont be able to get back out with just a slit in the m10 screw? pfte tape sounds like a good idea just want to make sure im not going to have a leak.
Also with the oil pressure sensor do you just need to get a mk1 oil pressure sensor then it wont snap off or melt etc.?

did mine this weekend, got it all on ok apart from ive got a 52 plate vtr and the hole u need to block off is further away from the one shwon in this guide so u cann leave the head on the bolt you are putting in and the oil filter will still go on, but with mine i tapped a m9 thread inot the hole then blocked it off with m9 bolt, also not the the lambda sensor needs extending to reach the plug and buy a mk1 oil temp sensor and rewire i spade connector to the end of it and all should go ok

heres some pictures of me doing my filter conversion

as you can see the hole i need to block off is further away from the filter than the one in this guide, and it is a m9 tap you need to use if yours is like this and you can leave the head on the m9 bolt this is from a 52 plate vtr

fitted this manifold to my mk2 vtr (51 plate) a few months ago using this guide.

has anyone else come across problems getting the bracket at the bottom of the manifold to line up with the hole to bolt it to the gearbox?

mine is miles away so i just left the bolt out but feel that i'm getting too much movement either in the engine/gearbox or the exhaust system.
