Give it a squirt with some wd40 or try knocking it at an angle with a long screwdriver/pipe (i actually used a long piece of threaded bar) and a hammer to dislodge it & then you can manoeuvre it with the screwdriver to get it out!
Just done this at the weekend infact - total pain in the a*se

Yes - oval retaining washers on both ends of the torsion bars - spray plenty of WD-40 into the slot and try tapping at an angle with a hammer and screwdriver on the edge of the washer's internal hole.

Right, how the feck do you get the torsion bars out!!!
I've tried the bolt through socket method and snapped the bolt, I've tried hammering in various places but nothings happening...
sexy_gt? Willsy? Anyone!!!
Whats the best way to get them out?

Tried that but I just seemed to be making a square impression into the torsion bar, didnt want to knacker the teeth up, or the thread hole. I'll get a bigger hammer...

put an axle stand by the torsion bar, balance a pole on the axle then whack it very hard and pray it budges a bit

got both washers out havnt you on each end?
Large hammer, and without strangling the hammer wack the solid bar and it will come out...persistance will get you there!
