Talking JamesR's VTR Progress Thread

Page 1 - First got the car, induction kit, exhaust, show cage, t-cutted badges, buckets

Page 2 - OMP harnesses

Page 3 - Little photoshoot and Ported and polished TB

Page 5 - Started cleaning and dressing the engine bay and OMP upper brace

Saxperience E-Garage

This first picture is of when i picked the car up at chester motor auctions for £1100 all in all. and its pretty sorry looking.

So the first thing i did when i got home was wash+wax it and polish it.

Next thing on my list was the Pipercross induction kit.

Next was the exhaust which is from sportex and is 3"

Next was a show cage which I attached a fire extinguisher too.

well i have got got some bucket seats here waiting to go in, with either red OMP or sparco harnesses. erm looking into meshing the grille, strip out the rear 4-2-1 manifold. also going too lower the front about 30mm and 40mm rear. maybe some 266mm disks form teh 306 GTI-6. Also looking into some decent front suspension, polybuhses, strut braces etc

Then i might go down the cam and remap route, and see where i go from there

Progress Update! i have recently sprayed the citroen and saxo badges on the back of my vtr in matt black wich matches some of the black trim, and have also painted the front chevrons wicked red to match the rest of the car. I Think these subtle colour coding really set the car off.

Will do mate

Will lower the front myself, then go to ABP motorsport for the torsion bar.

How am i meant to fit it then? my impression has always been that you attach it to the crank case cover? thats where the breather hose originally came out of.

I want to cam my vtr, is there anywhaer that will do everything from the fitting of the cams to an ecu remmap, and fully set it all up? how much am i looking at? and could i get say 125-130 bhp out of my 90bhp model vtr? as you can see above i already have an induction kit and a exhaust sytem, and am getting a raceland manifold in a month. All help appriciated.
