Time Attack 2015
Round 1 Pocket Rocket
Cadwell Park
After 6 months of winter work on the car round one is here... (and gone)
There are some changes from last year but the big changes are switch to Leda suspension and a shorter final drive.
Sadly I had no time for winter testing as the car was off the road for 4 months waiting for parts.
I have many new sponsors this year and would like to introduce them as:
Alive Tuning
Roose motorsport
FST automotive
Flock me
Leda
Powerflex
FRIDAY day before Time Attack
We arrived Friday afternoon to put up our tent, chat to a few competitors who were testing, sign on then nipped off home for an early night
SATURDAY... Time Attack Day!
Arrive at the circuit excited by a dry Cadwell park.
The car passes scruitineering without issue.
First session...
session 1 WARM UP
Having not turned a wheel in anger since November I am impressed by the cars power (still 244bhp). The circuit is fully dry sun shining but the circuit is cold.
I had told myself to take it easy but felt good in the car so after 3 laps on went the lights for hot lap....
the session ended with a 1:48.600 not great but required a damper and tyre adjustment so settled for what I had done. I had secured 1st in class.
session 2 PRACTICE
Tyres and dampers set, back out for another session to try improve. On my 3rd flying lap I have a slight moment on charlies 2...

With some traffic issues session ends 1:46.200 2nd in class behind Oldmans turbo Fiesta.
session 3 QUALIFYING
One flying lap then lights on for a hottie
The car really feeling good, nose on the car is planted. I am pushing harder than ever before, have a good chase with an evo which I found very exciting....
Struggle a little with other cars not moving over right away but still put in a few good laps.
session ends with a personal best of 1:41.5900 First in class and group!

session 4 FINAL
It rained hard 20 minutes before session. A few changes to the car and im ready to go out.
No one had done any wet testing
The circuit had that much standing water the safety car lead the first two laps.
Three laps in I decide I should really be leaning on the tyres more and just have a bit of faith and do my best.
Struggling with a misted up windscreen and lots of nervous competitors I make my way through traffic.
I then see the chequred flag before I had gone as quick as I thought possible. Bugger
Steamed up to high hell I pull back under our tent to be greated by Simon... "you bloody done it mate" followed by some very fruitful language from me
Time sheet reveals a pretty good result. First in class and 2nd in group overall.
Way to end the first round.
Round 2 is Snetterton 31st may.
the car will have some small changes, nothing big.
