yes i can see where your coming from but its two different things. this thread is about the removal of the jokes section.

if that thread was in the jokes section then it will only be admin (Scott, Simo or Mark) that will be able to get it back. That thread was spam heaven but very funny, however towards the end it did get abit tasteless.

Yes we are more than aware thats our jobs. So I did our jobs by removing the section that was causing most trouble there for moderation was swift and effective. Cant get better moderated than that?

Main issue with the jokes section is that people thought they could get away with being racist or bigoted or sexist because it was just a "joke". Now it cant be put in that bracket so can now be treated properly and dealt with properly. Again better moderation.

In my book anyway.

Very true IMHO i feel there was some warnings given out also. Its a shame people have to spoil it like this, did you pm the main offenders as well? I find mark is good at pming you a warning now and again lol

There were some pretty nasty jokes in there...but a few were funny...used to cheer me up in my bad moods haha! But I can see why its gone, but will jokes now just get put in thread in GC? xXx

i think deleting the whole thread is pretty pathetic, as aid above your job is a moderator, and deleting the whole section seams like cheating your job, just becuase its a big section you deleted doesnt make what you did sound any better, just sounds really really lazy. i enjoyed looking through a few before work or after to cheer me up.

the majority of the jokes were not offensive. All the offensive posts and threads that were made did seem to only come from the jokes section, so it not likes its to difficult to find and lock or delete them.

also dishing out warnings to offenders can work, but not one after another, surely if that offender has done the same thing again after the warning there should be more done. for example when rem was made invisible for a few weeks for spam or something.

i think a few people need to remeber moderators give up their OWN time to try and help the forum.

Its not a paid job, so dont have countless hours to spend wiping peoples arses.
