Default Gauges not working

Rather weird for it to be working while starting. Hard to find new clusters

I've checked the leftside A-pillar ground, scratched some paint off and checked the ring terminals, and added extra ground from the strut tower to the battery.

I'm thinking it might be a relay or something like that, because everything works when I have the key in the start position

Could it be a relay in the footwell? There is a greeen and a yellow relay next to each other, yellow one is activating when starting the car, but the green one does nothing

I didn't think the dials had a relay... I couldn't find one that was specific when I had problems on a 106.

Not for the dials, but there is something that has to do it, because how could they work when starter is in use and only then

Am I really gonna have to scrap a little bit over 60k gone car that 0 rust and paint in perfect order, just because of a electric fault

theres a few fuses in the glove box wihch are linked to the dials, remove and re-insert them with the ignition on. over time they get a tiny bit of corrosion on them and it causes this fault.

If you've changed the whole cluster, clearly there's a supply fault.

That's not what I said though, have you tried doing it with the ignition on? Specifically the bottom right fuse.

I see your fuel gauge acts strange, it's not like the power is being cut immediately. Is the battery voltage stable? It's not over-volting to over 16 volts ? That could maybe cause an issue.

It's clear the fault is in the wiring somewhere, since you've changed the cluster.

I did try the taking out fuses with the ignition on, I took out every fuse and re inserted still not working. I found another post by saxoestonia or something along those lines who had the exactly same problem. But well did he tell what the problem was. of course not, Well I guess I will just have to go to try the mot, get 1 month of driving and then scrap it unless I find out a way to fix the dials even with a switch or something like that

Hmm, I'm wondering if there's a problem with one of the main relays then.

The engine loom and ECU run standalone through the ignition switch, but all the interior things are usually switched by a relay. That relay usually disengages when the starter is engaged (your radio goes off etc). You have the opposite problem.

Is this a standard car? Or have you changed the locks or interior loom as part of a conversion? There are around 4 types of ignition switch wiring where the colours changed, but the plugs still fit each other. That could give you the possibility of reversing relay functions etc.
