I think ads just wanted to tag a whole photo, when i read about hotspot there i thought u had just had a brilliant new idea but now i think about it im sure i remember flickr having this feature aswell.
Hotspot tagging would be really neat but i think most people would be happy just being able to tag an image as a whole!
