Default Manifold o2 sensor question

On my 106 gti the lamda sensor is on the top bit of the manifold that comes off the head but i have purchased a 4-2-1 and the hole for that one is down by the cat how do i extend the sensor to go in the hole?

I can't quite understand how the hole in the manifold can be down by the cat, as this are isn't part of the exhaust manifold. Have you got a pic?

run the wire down the back of the engine.. that should give you the extra length needed

You pass it down the back of the engine and it should slot in then.

Why is nothing simple.

The hole is at the bottom of the downpipe near where it joins the cat.

Near the bracket where it attaches near the gearbox

What manifold is it? Any pics? Normally the hole would be a few inches before the piping takes a 90 degree turn in a horizontal state.

homemade. thats why it was cheap jason. second hand ftw.

the lambda should still reach anyway as all the wires for it run over the gearbox so it should reach just fine
