not really sure tbh but for the price of the engine its easier to just fit a working engine, well o say that now, fitting a BMW engine is a world away from doing a 16v conversion I'd rather do ten of them lol

Coursework? Surely you can put it off for ANOTHER year?
I do love a cheeky engine transplant. looks sweet. I reckon you'll make excuses as to why you aren't selling it when it's running properly though.

Another reason I sold my 330.
Looks really nice Jeff, glad you got a Black M sport! If it isnt an M Sport I would never even think about owning one! (awaits M3 owners). Black is the best colour too and thank god you haven't got the cheap chrome trim! haha
Get your gull fins in black if you haven't already. think I saw yellow calipers too? Go black with them imo!
Spot on, stereo's are good in these too aint they for a standard system!

Finally got the gearbox off today! weve been held up by a stubbon bolt, the head was bending on it so you couldnt use any force on it as the socket just slipped off so i ended up angle grinding the head off and we slide the box off the stud
tomorrows job is to dissconnect the rest of the bits from the engine, then wednesday im going to get an engine crane and its being pulled out.
Either wednesday or thursday the new engine should be in and would like to spend friday fitting the box and then its just the small task of sorting out the masses or wires, clips etc world of difference away from a saxo loom!

It's coming along nicely
out of interest, when you list the car for sale, will you do one of those "72k miles (1xx on car, 72k on engine)" speeches? They make me cringe when reading an advert
Obviously you want to tell the prospected buyer the car has a younger, fresher engine to a great expense, but you need to be careful how you word it

Sams advert will simply read:
''Beeemer three series 2.2 goes like a twat, never ragged from cold''

I'll probs just put lower mileage engine fitted in the title but I did think of doing it the other way lol last thing I want is people to just skip past my advert be because of the mileage
