Fuel Filter
Hey Guys,
Which way should the fuel filter be plugged in?
Im having trouble with me car (Idle, accel etc) and think it may be plugged in the wrong way around?
Currently the arrow on mine is facing the rear of the car (Thickest part towards the rear.)
is that correct?
cheers

I think the arrow should be pointing towards the front of the car (thus the direction of the flow)... not 100% sure though.

It wont destroy anything, but it could cause the car to run poorly.
Depending on the type of filter, if its fitted incorrectly it might not filter the fuel and will also restrict the flow of the fuel. Swap it over so the arrows facing towards the front of the car and see if it makes any difference.

Sorry to bump the thread but just wanted a confirm.
This my new fuel filter:
The arrow goes towards the engine, looking at the filter inside you can see the actual filter and it is connected to the fuel tank and on the other side you can see a grey film that goes to the hose you can see in the pic which goes to the engine,is this correct?

Weirdly enough the old filter had the arrow pointing towards the back but the internal filter was inverse compared to the new filter,so this way, with the arrow on the new filter pointing the engine the internal filter it's in the same way as the old one that was fitted,it doesn't even say "out" or anything else on the filter itself, the car runs fine so should be ok.
The new filter is a Filtron N° 831/1.

If you look at last picture on the how to guide -
http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85297
You will see correct way for filter to go.
The arrow should point towards the 'U' shaped fuel line. IIRC, that means it points towards the rear, as the fuel line u-turns back up to the engine bay

So,this grey film goes to the U hose that then goes to the engine right?
If you're unsure and it doesn't say anything on the filter like on mine just be sure the grey film connect to the U shape hose.

From that photo it says "out" so yes the u bend pipe that then goes in to the engine would connect to this side of the filter.

Changed my fuel filter literally 2 days ago and the bigger bit of the fuel filter should be towards the front of the car, this is the out part of the filter, so the in end of the filter should be at the back of the car!

I changed mine a few weeks ago.
I'm sure the arrow should faces towards the back of the car.

That's what i was thinking.
Imo if you want to be sure check on what side says "Out" that will need to be connect to the U hose that goes to the engine,if it doesn't say anything check the internal filter and connect it in the same way as the old filter,as i said the "grey film" inside the filter goes towards the U hose.
