I've tested the Clio 3 more times than I remember and I yeah they are going to be better as daily cars for sure but you will feel it in your pocket with the fuel bill! Also I think tyre size is 17" and pads will be more expensive I would imagine.
I think in reality I would like a 200 but everyone keeps telling me not to lose the 172 and also 197/200's are going for R26 Megsne money which is another league of car in a way.
Bare in mind im a bit odd and I drove with no rear interior all the way up the a12 and 14 and back every 4 days or so! Thats with a loud exhaust and no cd player!

Whoever said silver cars can't be shiney?
These are the results of my first time with a machine polisher using basic polish and wax...

Apart from that car looks much the same. Except I changed back to a sport spoiler as its lighter and looks like it doesnt cause as much drag (the edges are ill fitting on most cup spoilers)
Also lost the fogs and replaced them with smooth holes and have holes cut in the arche liners to feed a bit more air to the brakes although at present there is no ducting as the carbon cannister and horns are in the way.
I also shed a bit more weight in the form of sound deadening and stuff like that so I would guess my car without its spare wheel weighs around the same as a 172 cup.
Also have a Snetterton sticker that I buggered up so the letters are now missing making it look like someone has drawn a penis on the car (lol) and I have a "bend the rules, rule the bends" sticker to go on too.
I'll get some pics when I can. Nothing new until I can find a decent cheap set of 15" wheels from another Renault for track wheels (better choice and tyre prices are lower)

Been advised coolant temp sensor might need changing or poss thermostat. Car runs a bit rubbish from cold sort of splutters a bit and then is fine when warm. Been doing it for ages and peoplle always said they run like garbage from cold but can't hurt to change it.
Still love the stupid French thing. Maybe not as much as the Saxo or Twingo but it does everything they did.....just faster.

Mine does the same. Brothers clio 200 is the same and he said his old 172 was. I think its just something to do with the timing on these.

The lumpiness can be caused by the timing being slightly out. They do have rough cold idles anyhow, the RON98 map is known the cure this.

Got these off ebay. Trackday was wet so unsure if they worked. Currently running without ducts.

Replaced tdc (crankshaft sensor) as had intermittent starting issues. Seems fine now.
£18 and fitted myself! I have officially fixed my own car lol

These are prone for that! My 172 did that the other day and my missus's trophy did that 5 months ago

Sadly I haven't got that sort of cash to spend on a Clio right now but I am getting the next best thing...
Eibach Pro line springs so minimal lowering and also the springs are black like the standards
Shame it had to happen now as a mate down the road is selling his almost new proline with cup dampers for £30 more than I paid for just the springs! But he''s not selling his till he gets the car back from clioturbo around xmas.
These should do. Get 5 years warranty with eibach as well AFAIK.

I spent the afternoon putting the rear interior all back in. Speakers and even CD player as I can't see myself doing a huge amount more to the car.
Will probably get a Clio 200 cup or 225 Megane or even a 250 cup in the future so don't want to spend too much on this.

Ahh so it was you who called! I liked my Clio with the Pro-kit springs on.
We get a lot of more modern cars breaking springs these days. I think OEM Springs have got worse quality in the last 15 years.

Well impressed with them! Even comfier on the road than the standard sport springs which is unbelievable. Haven't noticed any difference in handling or even body roll really but as a bonus the car sits a little bit nicer now.
Highly recommended!
Might need a rear ARB as the car isn't exactly what I would call playful imo.
