Right so as promised some photos and some updates.

Firstly here's the poor old Blue car as she stands now.... or sit's!!

It's pretty sad but the shells dead and no one wants any of the bit's I have left over so it's all waiting for next week when hopefully i'll be able to get her up to the scrapie and get a few quid back for her.

On to the track car though...

Managed to get pretty much everything I NEEDED to get done sorted.

First off, I got the exhaust setup and sealed with some gungum so no more blowing from the joints.

I then managed to get the holes drilled into the exhaust tunnel so I could mount the eyelet and spreader plates for the harness to couple up to and fitted the harness and made sure everything was okay with the seat etc.

then I got around to a bit of tidying up. First off was to get all the crap that had accumulated in their shifted out and into the spare room in the house. Then i got the dustpan and brush out and cleaned up all the dust and flaked apint and bit's of old sound deadening up and binned all that.

After all that, I then had a bit of time to have a mess about with a new purchase I picked up last week. Got everything set up and figured out and decided that for FCS the new purchase is going to stay as pictured but then afterwards, some fettling will be done.

Any way, Here's a photo of the new purchase.... I just want to say, I've waited for AGES to get a set of these!!!

!!!!LOVE MORRETTES!!!!

So, all that is left to do now IS...

Passenger side strut needs removing and the lower part swapping for the spare with the good wheel bearing. Then put the wheels back on and were set!!

Got a guy coming on Friday to fit the Megane with a towbar then I just need to book the trailer and were good to go for FCS.

Hopefully if the weather stays okay through the week, i'll have the strut sorted tomorrow and should be able to do a quick run in the back lane to make sure the brakes feel okay. If that's all good then I'll try and give her a bit of a wash and some quick detailer just to get a little bit of a shine on her.

So there we go. cutting it fine with the towbar/trailer stuff BUT the guy said he could fit it yesterday then bailed on me when he heard what the weather was going to be like!

Here's a few more photos from the past few days/weeks work for your eyeball pleasure.

Cheers. It's growing on me at the minute. It'll look a bit better after a good wash and polish so hopefully I get some time to do it. If not i'll nip it round to the local hand wash and get them to do it for me

It's not too bad if i'm honest. it came with a few scratches and a few flecks of paint missing but it's all stuff that can be sorted over time. Just can't wait to get it on the track again, even if it is only for a short blast. It's so much fun to drive.

Trailer is now booked and the towbar is confirmed for Friday. Looking forward to getting this sorted and getting out to somewhere quiet to test the car out

Well, thats it!!

All done!!

Well, except I just need to get her off the axle stands and tighten the front ARB and front wishbone bolts up. Then If I can get a few hours one evening I might be able to get the hose on it and get all the dust off.

WELL EXCITED now! Going to see if I can find a private road and trailer her up there for a play on friday or saturday.

I'm selling a set of GTi6 brakes in favour of the 206GTi brakes. I want to be able to run 14" wheels if I can get some track tyres for cheap so the 266mm disks are the way forward for me

Cheers mate. That frame need the brackets swapping round so it'll fit in the other side so it's going to be a single seater for FCS but then i'll get my mate Jon over with his welder and we'll sort it out.

Well, I managed to get her off the axle stands last night and found that the battery had drained. I think it is down to a really corroded lamp holder for the rear registration plate. I've disconnected it and i'll see if it holds a charge again.

Managed to get her started and out of the way this morning so I could get the bins out for emptying today. I managed to get 2 quick snaps while she was out.

NEED TO CLEAN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Towbar is now fitted and fully working!

That's the last of the money from breaking the VTR gone until I can sell some more parts. Really quite gutted that more hasn't sold but never mind, nothing ever goes to plan does it.

Got a few bits to do around the house then I'll nip up and pick up the trailer. Looking forward to getting that back and having a practice drive about with it.

Got the trailer now. It's a bigger one than I thought though. I need a bit of practice at reversing it I think so I might load up the Saxo in the Morning and nip out to Tesco early for some practice

REALLY looking forward to getting all loaded up and heading off tomorrow afternoon now
