Ah actually, now I remember, that isn't how I did it in the end. That T piece position meant it wouldn't bleed properly. I ended up sacking the whole thing off but only because the AX bay is so small. Got a little one up by the servo in the end which T'd into the pipe going to the thermostat.

My header feeds in to the lower hose between rad and water pump
But its easyer on mine as i use 206 coolant hoses so my lower hose comes over the gearbox

I found a rad with the same size core as the diesel but had integrated header tank like most of the petrol engines, direct fit to a gti.
Saves faffing with the pipework.

If you're putting it near the servo then you can T into the pipe that goes from the thermostat housing round to the heater matrix

theres literally no room for the rad on the kit im running mate..ive had to put it right forward and right up... the over flow pipe is gonna have to be drilled into the side of the inner morrette so the pipe can fit on

ill whack some pipcs up the morra.. ive got a corsa B one i believe and got the lower pipe that matches..its gonna run the pipe under the servo behind the brake lines and straight to the rear hose with the bleed cap on.. under the matrix hose theres another run off with a rubber plug blocking it (never seen one of these ones before so there must be loads diff ones as ive seen a few different!) so its worked out pretty fucking well tbh..dare i say it may even look OE

Nice. Love it when you get a mod looking OE. I was gutted when I couldnt get the diesel header tank to bleed cos it looked great.

No the header tank was just filling up and coolant wasn't making its way into the system. Took about an hour to get a litre in there

My 1.5d rad is so good, I've been driving with no rad fan for over 2 years and never had it overheat. Even sitting in traffic for 25 mins.
Fitted the fan today, for the sake of OEM-ness.

in and fitted..
the pipe from the back of block had an extra tak off with a plug in it..so i pulled the plug out and drilled the hole bigger as was only fit for a small pipe... with some struggle the corsa (i believe) pipe forced over after chopping it down to size
bracket made for the header to fit infront of the servo.. the pipe has a nice curve to go round the back of the brake pipes
