Default Wired up fuel pump

Fuel pump not kicking in anymore so had to wire a direct feed from the battery to the pump so its always priming. So when i turn the engine off i have to disconnect the battery to stop it draining my juice. my friend suggested getting a switch to cut the feed? How would i go about this as there are 3 wires coming off the pump and i have real expertise on car electrics.

Just find the live wire and run a single switch on that one as the signal wire will cut off when ignition is off and earth will not be needed if no power going to the pump

If your a self-admitted noob when it comes to wiring....

.... how did you go about wiring the pump direct to the battery?

Please make sure you've got a fuse in there somewhere.
