TIME ATTACK ROUND 2 KNOCKHILL...
we set off Saturday 15:00
road works delay us about an hour...
and arrive here at 21:30...
set up tent, get our heads down... tent was gifted by IndyComm Global
^^ aftermath from death winds lol.
so 07:00 sign on, chat to a few familiar faces, get through scruitineering without issue and out for warm up at 08:30!!! (scotts are bloody keen!).
upgrades since Round 1 are
abs removed, manual bias valve fitted.
fuel swirl setup.
switch from r888 195 to a048 205wide.
having never driven here before and it completely throwing it down I am feeling very lost out there. quite a few guys had done the evening test sessions the day before so there is a very mixed amount of pace out there.
^^once again the wiper fuse blows right away leaving me pretty blinded but stayed out to learn the circuit as much as possible. I basically limped round best lap a 1:21...
once back to the tent we realise the charger oil feed pipe had split. it had been leaking. I was pleased it had not been dry weather otherwise there would of been more boost used and possible charger failure. quick repair and begged some transmission oil from a fellow competitor and we are ready to go again. only no wipers and again rain so a heavy amount of rain-x
^^ practice was better with the rain-x but I needed wipers... it was soaking out there, raining still and spray from other cars pretty bad.
came in after session ended with a 1:14...
struggled to find grip in the a048 in such wet conditions.
this time in the garage (tent lol) I said the wipers must be repaired! now removed the stalk and fitted a switch on the dash. now I can see
back out again for qualifying after chatting to a few of the guys (neil wren, Daniel clark, matt straker) basically conclusion I am few seconds off their pace so sharing a few tips
I had decided to try the toyo r888 sg compounds. softs.
immediately on circuit I feel a lot more grip, even on the first corner. it is no longer raining but is fully wet on track. enjoying the grip a lot more and starting to get a feel for the circuit I manage a 1:08...

after a good improvement on the sg r888 I feel pretty happy with them as an inter tyre.
now the finals!!!
before we went out it suddenly looked like rain
so rather than refit the medium a048 I left the sg 888 tyres on but adjusted the pressures to 22 front 28 rear. set to dry pressure but with the tyres gauge in simons pocket ready to drop rears if started to rain during the session
getting ready to drive the circuit in the dry for the first time... just having a moment with myself...
out on circuit in the dry for the first time. I pretty much go for it on my 1st flying lap make a 1:03... another few laps and its down to 1:01.031!
the finals was an awesome bit of action from all. I thoroughly enjoyed these laps, very memorable. lots of cars going off, breaking down but managing to keep it together myself and end 8th out of 13 in class. beating some other cars from rwd forced ind.
footage of finals.... wishing I had the yoko a048s on but safe bet for weather change.
and also moved the camera to a spot so can actually see

all in all Knockhill I will make a return to. should be on every ones bucket list of circuits!
