Unlucky with the brakes dude, love the car though, really has that aggressive track look and a functional ride height! You certainly know how to build a car

Cheers mate, just a bit pissed off with that pipe and the fact no one had one in stock round here as I could have swapped it out and have it bled up and back on 4 wheels by now!

Awesome stuff so far buddy least you got the brakes sorted.
Sounds evil on the vid, I bet it does come alive at 3k up
Thought about fitting an s1 inlet? They sound awesome, no real gain but do look good and sound good. If you ever spot one cheap I advise you grab it

Thanks mate, it was nice to get it out of the garage so I could put the 182 away out of the rain.
Ive had a bid on ebay a while back but I dont fancy paying over £100 for a non converted one! Going to try some more test drives of it soon but the brakes do feel sharp now and it really hauls up well even on the standard 247mm brakes. It only took me 15 mins to bleed them up with the Gunson Easy Bleed, i'd recommend one of those things to anyone

Going to adjust the rear bias valve tomorrow, got a little bit of lockup from the rear brakes upon hard braking. It probably wouldn't do it if it was dry but as it is wet ouside its shown it up more, was going to adjust it tonight but then it started hammering it down and I couldnt be bothered moving the cars!

Thought I'd adjust the rear brake bias spring as I was getting a bit of a crazy lockup issue albeit in the wet - I found the spring had a lot of play in it as the bolt securing it to the beam wasnt tight enough. Thought I'd wind the bolt out and unseize the spring... but the bolt snapped on me leaving me with nothing to hold the large end of the spring! So what I've done is drill the bolt out and make my own spring securing setup from a bolt and a few washers I had kicking about. Luckily the car was in the garage with the heater on as I hadn't anticipated having to drill a bolt out for about 30 minutes! Pics to follow tonight
Drilled out bracket that held the end of the broken off bolt - also removed the abs sensor bracket
Made up a bolt and washer combo to hold it:

I purchased some new flex brake pipe clips that hold the hard lines into the brackets. Boshed them on this evening and rebled the brakes as you have to split the lines:

Had a bit of spare time today so I changed the oil in the clio then remembered that the indicator stalk on the VTR was playing up so I pulled the stalk from the housing and took it all apart. A while later as its quite fiddly I put it back together and now the indicators work perfectly without you having to hold the stalk in a certain position!

It was a bugger to get it back correctly upon opening the stalk up, with all the contacts and springs etc. Works nicely again though now after a little cleaning up.
Hopefully some open pit lane days money permitting and when the weather isn't so icy and cold. Might also enroll in a local car club so I can attend some hill climbs, going to have to research into that though.

Decided I wanted a better ratio box to put in the car when the weathers better, so looked on ebay and won one so I popped over to Derby this evening and came away with a 106 xsi box.

Loving the progress mate
Just out of interest... what happened to your VTR wheels that you painted grey?

Oh and Ive secured the speedo sensor now as I thought I'd lost the bolt but found it!
However, this appears to be a 1.5 Diesel box or atleast its casing. Will have to get back in touch with the seller and see if he wants to swap or it give me my money back!

1.4 XSI final drive should be a 14 tooth pinion shaft and 60 tooth crownwheel (4.29) whereas the 1.6 XSI box is the same as S2 Rallye - 16 tooth pinion shaft and 65 tooth crownwheel (4.06).
If you still have the 6250 rev limit, I'd say a VTS/ S2 Rallye box should be ideal.
