So lastnight me and D4MJT went on a sort of moist, dark adventure, and not in a good way.
I did come back with this though
Win!

Nice cage dude! Make sure everything is done inside before you fit it and make sure your happy with the position and fit before drilling holes. Took me ages to get mine right and now I need to take it all out to fit a new dash!

Yeah, I hear they're a hell of a tight fit, cehck, check and check again I think!
the dash is going the journey, someone on here has an epic mk1, basically I'm going for this setup :
But I'm going to gloss black the interior

Yeah I subscribed to that... Loved his wooden seat mounts! Lol.
I thought about that too but I want to keep the heater in for winter. Might pull it out for summer though. See how I get on. Would mean having to paint the whole interior properly I guess as well.

I might just get a demister, as it's needed for the MOT?

I could just run the demister to heat the car up if I ever had to drive it anywhere?

Right well, not a lot got done over Xmas I was busy helping D4MJT ish, I say helping, I mainly drank tea and mocked him.
However, since my cage was in the back of his car, and his car now worked, he was able to drop it off! yey!
However I did just get a few days over where the VTS lives, so I did get a few things done, got the owther window in & the door bits out, need to bond them in, bolt them up and chop the doors a bit.
Then I decided to test fit the cage.
Right, so there are a few issues, 1 I obviously need the fitting kit as the feet are L shaped and not flat, so it was never going to sit on the floor, the second issue is that the door bars clip the seats!
Now, the thing is, the cage isn't at the correct height, it should be higher up sat on the weld in boxy mounts, so I'll return to this problem once the mounts are in, the seat is also a basemount on a slider etc etc.
Another thing is that the bar between the main uprights of the hoop didn't come with the cage, meh! so I'll need to order one of those too.
I decided to get the bumper off as I want to chop some holes in it and get my oil cooler fitted up
And that's pretty much as it stands, there's a little bit of rust at the front, where the horn bolts on in the wing etc, so I might get the fans, slam panel and rad off and attack what I can, the fans weren't actually mounted at the bottom so god knows what had happened there! anyway I'll just bodge wwhatever I can to keep the rust at bay for now. The radiator looks like it's had a hard life so I think I'll replace it while I'm on!
Not much progress but it's getting there

It'll probably go to knockhill a lot, the ring once, and FCS, that's about it I think.
It's a horrific car to drive on the roads.

Really tidy example, bet its a bit harsh for road use though! Dont blame you for keeping it track.
