Default Jack's Silver and Black 16'V saxos. 2018 update

Hi

I've been a member on here for a few months now so I thought I'd make a thread for my VTR.
I bought it last september completely standard with 48k on the clock for £900.

This is how it looked after I added wind deflectors.

I then sticker bombed the interior and various stickers on the back window.

After seeing the error of my ways with the stickers they have since been removed.
Fitted 106 mirrors and de-wiper'd and aerial'd
Also changed the standard wheels to 205 GTI wheels wrapped in toyo tr-1

This is how she currently stands.

Future plans are to lower it eventually probably 50-60 mm.

Thanks for looking

haha I laughed at the "come at me bro sticker"!, you did the right thing by removing them. but having 1 on isn't that bad.

I might have to get some gti mirrors for mine

UPDATE

Forgot I has this so thought I'd give a brief update on the saxo. Went on a track day at Snetterton with the car as standard last summer and plans are to modify with track time in mind.

Since then I've fitted

VTR seats re trimmed in black leather
blue rallye carpet
blue seatbelts
light weight doorcards
Toyosport 4-2-1 manifold
Magnex exhaust system.

Recently purchased a few other parts that will be fitted at some point. Plans are to get them fitted before a track day I'm doing in April at Snetterton.

Upper and lower OMP strut brace
266mm brake setup
VTS radiator with dual fan setup
Apex suspension setup.

Heres some recent pictures.

Looks tidy.

Is the drivers rear sitting on a slant? or shadow?

Can't tell from the pics but are these electric 106 mirrors? If they are try and get some vts interior mirror caps.

Think its just the slant that makes it look iffy. Drove it like that for 2 years now so don't think there are any problems. Got a slightly better picture of the back from earlier

And Mick there manual mirrors. The covers don't look too good but it saves the adjusters from flapping around.

Hi guys thought I'd show of my updates as its slowly coming together.

Started of by stockpiling parts mainly off various guys from here.

Lucas calipers and 266mm discs
Apex front + rear shocks with 40mm springs
OMP upper + lower strut braces
vts radiator + twin fan casing
as well as some smaller parts just to replace the worn out OEM parts.

Started off with taking the struts off to upgrade the dampers and fit the larger discs. Overall went pretty straight forward with no real problems.
Calipers were given new seals and painted blue to match the interior. They also needed some minor grinding on the carrier so they could fit on the leg. Fitted braided lines also.

And here you go all finished on the front end. Plans are to get the rear lowered by KrisB in the near future.
Have a track day next wednesday at Snettertton but not sure if i will have time to lower it by then which could make the track day quite lively.

Heres some pictures of it after a clean and a clay.

Future plans are to get the rear lowered as said. To sort out the bodywork and the rust as its a bit tatty in places.
Thanks for looking

Hi all may as well keep this up to date in case anyone was interested

Had my first track day of the year at Snetterton 300 in April. The car ran faultlessly as always and it was good fun attempting to keep up with everything else.
Went up there with my mate in his civic and my brothers was the support car for the day.

Didn't get too many pictures managed to get a quick snap of the first victim of the day when we were lined up in the pit lane.

For those who can't tell it's a Honda NSX. Also was a Nissan GTR and a Aston Martin V8 vantage on track too didn't get any photo's though.

Couple action shots from the photographer

Some aftermath photos. Brakes were pretty good for naff pads and discs. Turned the calipers turquoise can only presume due to the heat.

Future plans as said before is to lower the rear. Need to get some new dampers for the back most likely some Gaz adjustable's as they seem the best for the money.

Just won a flocked dashboard for a great price so will be collecting that and fitting that at some point.

Also considering getting a bucket seat and/or a 4 point harness as I plan to do at least another track day over the summer and sliding around in the leather seat isn't comfortable.

Big updates to come soon.

First of all I've recently bought a few parts to go on the silver VTR.

flocked dashboard, picked it up for a bargain £30 and its its pretty good condition overall.

Set of front morettes

new windscreen cover as mine was cracked. Gave the drainage panels underneath a small clean just to get rid of the dirt.

nice and clean

Updates.

Collected the new car today. Bought it off Tom aka Puddy which used to belong to TomC. Has had a lot of work done to it over the years some of more tastier mods are.

Schmidt Modern lines
Gaz coilovers on the front
Spax dampers on the rear
J4 engine with Newham ph3 cams all remapped and good. Just needs timing and some minor tweeks to get it running perfect.
GTI half leathers.
Good sounds system, steering wheel, resprayed bump strips the list goes on.

Here's some pictures when I got it home and gave it a quick clean.

Also gave my silver vtr a quick once over

Also fitted some decent door pulls as my other fell apart.

Plans.

Get the VTS lump in the black one to be running sweet.
Sort out a few imperfections it has to get it looking mint overall
Fit the flocked dash and morettes to the silver one
