Think I payed about 15.00 for it of a lad on 106 owners mate.
They are quite rare don't see many gti,s with them on.
As for exhaust I have thought about a pug sport but would rather spend money on other things at min.
My mate works at top gear and could do me a custom exhaust but sure I will get one soon.

I might have a gander when i get paid, tidy up the bay a little bit more. Your right, i haven't seen one on a GTI at allso will make it a bit different! You should get the backbox when you have spare cash. I am going to get a 4-2-1 and a custom centre pipe after MOT is done. When you hit 4k it just rasps It's quite addictive lol

Do you have a pug sport mate?
I've got a miltek 4-2-1 Mani and a super sprint straight through section de catted and the magnex twin back box but does sound a bit crap at low revs.

So today my mechanic fitted the airbag ring put some more wire block connectors on the airbag wire and put the resistor on to fool the airbag so now the light comes on when ignition on and when cars started goes straight off just as it should so will be fine now for mot time next month.

Cheers mate ye the nissens rad helps keep the car cooler by upto 20 percent over standard rad so the cooler the engine the better chance you've got of head gasket lasting.
My temp needle would always be sat at 80-90 when warm with standard rad on now I have the nissens it dosent go over half way so seems to be serving its purpose and there also made better aswell.

Ok people the big build starts here.
After looking into having some head work done on the gti but needing my car for work i decided to purchase another engine and have the whole engine stripped apart and rebuilt with all new parts.
So i searched every thread on here and read up on the jp4 engine but couldnt bring myself to purchasing an engine that is 110hp when gtis have 120.
Yes most use the j4 cams etc but not getting into that lol.
So i spoke with sexy_gt off here and purchased a vts engine off him lastnight.
Wasnt too fussed about the engine etc as mentioned above will be having head ported and polished and fully rebuilt.
Anyway asked my mate this evening if he fancied cooming down and taking the head off for me so i could get it ready to get posted off.
Anyway 20mins later the cylinder head is off and ready to go.

So while im waiting on the head work to be done my bottom end will be fully built with new parts and when the head comes back will be fitted and then my engine will be out and this one will be in.
Also i will be having flywheel lightened and balance.

Jp4 engines can have 110 but that down to other specs like cam profiles and fueling set on ecu ect, some jp4 engine have 125. but jp4 heads have bigger inlet valves than j4 heads.

Reason for using jp4 head with j4 engine is for the bigger inlet valves. J4 engine internals are stronger also I am lead to believe, also using j4 cams springs ect, with jp4 head would of given you a big valve head.

But the main reason for using a jp4 head is the bigger inlet valves which would help you get some more power.

That is true but I've heard people say there car didn't seem as quick or powerful when fitting the jp4 with j4 cams etc and I've even heard people say that they was removing jp4 and going back to j4.
Understand a lot of people go for the jp4 due to the lower mileage but I'm having all my bottom end rebuild so once mines completed then in theory will be even less mileage than a jp4.
