Hi everyone not updated this for a while, progress been slow and my other engine not been rebuilt yet as getting married in march so engine on hold until after wedding lol.
Anyway here's a few things I've done, nothing amazing but here they are.

Sprayed my centre console and air vents

Fitted a quickshift

A trs tow strap

And a cheeky sticker on the rear

Well not updated this thread for a while now due to not been too sure which direction to go with it and after several chats with John from GMC I have now decided to supercharge the 106.

So previously purchased some Heko wind deflectors and imo I think they go well.

Some chequered plate foot wells not to many peoples taste but was fed up off the car mats keep wearing.

A little pic of the car as it stands now

Last month I purchased a paddle clutch complete kit from Pug1off.
Heard these can take a lot of getting used to lol but will cope with the power I will be running

And today I spoke with John at GMC and purchased:

Rotrex supercharger model c30/74 model with oil filter, piping and clips, 1litre traction lube/coolent, mocal oil cooler and oil tank

Intercooler/rad combo package with cooling fan

So very excited about this lol it all starts from here.

More parts to follow shortly

As promised spoke with John at GMC regarding building my engine for my super charger conversion so at the weekend got the bottom end out wire brushed it down and gave it a good clean aswell as the sump and painted it to make it look a bit more cleaner.

Bottom end before:

Then painted

Sump before

Then painted and fitted

And then ported and polished cylinder head fitted

Engine was collected yesterday and GMC received it today

So had this parcel delivered to work today

Opened it up straight away like a kid on Christmas day lol and wait for it:

My rotrex supercharger

Also got the oil cooler pipes and fittings oil filter oil tank and 1 litre of charger traction oil.

I don't question my own head - it produced the power figure I requested (400bhp+) from my engine builder, on a heart breaker dyno, and the person that did the work has his name to numerous top hp street driven cars in uk holland and france ranging from 750-900hp.
lets look at it this way
with the price of fuel and the lengths car makers go to get economy + effiency it would be no problem for them to cast cylinder heads with smoother ports
quite often the ports are rougher than the outside casting of the head .
the point i am making is that effienicy equals power and therefore economy and if it made a difference car makers would do it .
they use "boundary layer " technology which means slight turbulence at the walls caused by a rough surface stops the air sticking to the walls and flows better down the tube , and as all injectors on std cars are right behind the valves for emission purposes ,then you do not get fuel drop out in the port anyway because the port only has air flowing through it .
I have yet to see anybody talking about valve shaping which will do more than final port finish when going for the ultimate and needs to be different for inlet and ex valves
shape + size of ports is far more important than finish for a given engine spec

John, I always got told that a slight rough finish on the valve chambers/inlet ports were needed, as if it were perfectly smooth it somehow disturbs the air, is this true?

As axsaxoman said when I showed the cylinder head to my mechanic he said the same that it has been done with a rough surface to stop the air sticking to it as if it wasn't rough then the air would stick.

Anyway after speaking again today with axsaxoman ( John ) GMC regarding my engine John informed me that the bores are fine dosent need a re bore and John also told me what parts we needed aswell as what we were going to replace ie piston rods etc.
Also John said as I am going to be doing some track days he would highly recommend I use a baffle sump and would be worth fitting now whikle John is re building the engine so the baffle sump will also be fitted now.

I must say every chat ive had with John has been a pleasure and has been so helpful to me everytime.
I can still remember the first time I contacted him asking about the supercharger conversion and he explained everything possible and chatted for over 30mins with me and I cant bear to imagine how many people must call him day in day out asking about the supercharger conversions and of course not everyone follows it through but John still takes the time out of is day to help.

Cant wait till I go down to GMC after the supercharger is fitted and have it mapped so I can finally meet John and put a face to the name.

10 out of 10 to GMC ( John ) for there customer service

Try and keep this updated as much as I can had a call from John @ gmc today to tell me engine will be finished tonight/tomorrow ish so them I can get settled up with him and i can get it couriered back to me
John as had to order certain parts as I basically sent him a bare engine.
Also as my car is a pug 1 plug and the engine I sent to John is a 3 plug vts engi e then we need to get the thermostat issue sorted as the 3 plug can work off the ecu/standalone.
Spoke about the wiring loom too and John suggested I have all the coating stripped down from Behing the inlet manifold and have it all soldered. Gonna defo pay a lot of attention to the loom as I realise if the loom isn't in tip top shape then big problems can occur as some have found out.

Anyway intercooler has been a bit delayed so should be with me end ov next week.

You'll regret that I suspect unless you only ordered the individual lines from the hard pipes. I hope you didn't order a complete braided conversion from him. :/
