Too right! I'd love to get them to Anglesey!! That would be an awesome laugh. They could almost catch us on the straights but then we'd be gone on the bends! hehehe. I'm going to try my best and get down though... It's in the calender and everything!

So with the weight at the 850kg from Oulton park and the power now confirmed at 125bhp it gives me a little power to weight ratio of 147bhp/t. Now I do want to double check the weight as the passenger seat has gone in since Oulton but it still feels nice and quick to drive.

Bit of a little update... Not for my car but for Nic's.
This happened at yesterday:
Needs a bit of work so I'll get a separate progress thread up asap. Today should hopefully see a few bits picked up and maybe some nicer pics after a good wash! Depends on how much time I can get on it.

Just read through this from start to finish. What a build mate. I'm going to look at a Vtr tomorrow that's completely standard for £750 and to see how far you have come with a limited budget is a real inspiration. With being a student and working this give me hope of still being able to make a decent saxo

Nice build, Reminds me of my budget build. £1035 total cost so far.
mk1 VTS seam welded as of next week.
Engine with port polish head, induction, and exhaust and now a manifold (130bhp before manifold unsure on now) mocol oil cooler.
bilstein group N dampers, Faulkner 300lb springs, and solid adjustable top mounts.
206gti calipers drilled disks and ferodo ds2500 pads.
bucket seat harness and omp wheel, oh and a flocked dash.
just got my eye out for a cage, cams and itb's next

Cheers mate
Yeah, it's amazing what you can do with a bit of reading up on here and some wisely made choices, you can have a great little car for relatively little money. The main thing to sort is brakes, then the chassis, after that, worry about power. Good luck dude, Send me a link to your thread when you start one up.

Wow, bargain for that money! Yeah, Next jobs I want to sort are more power jobs so P&P head and cams then save for itb's. To be honest though, at the minute i'm just happy to be driving it as it is. I have a few more little niggles I want to sort and the missus new car to sort then i'll be looking into more power for sure.

Yeah, still plodding away.
Money and time have to be spread so thin at the minute that I hardly have time to do anything but I get the odd 5 minutes here and there.

Been to the unit to see AlexB and Lea today. Sorted out a few bits out for Nic's car and sorted an issue with my driver side drive shaft! Not much progress other than driving it! Got to get another shaft for mine then Nic can use the one I have as they gave me a tapered but I have flat faced hubs. Once her cars sorted and usable I'll get the passenger door fixed and start to tidy the interior a bit more.

Well, the tax runs out today so the cars coming off the road again!!
No money to tax it as no one wants to buy and bits off me!
Think I'll just dump what I can on eBay and take the hit with the fees!
Anyway, while the cars in dry-dock again, i'll be ripping out the cage to tidy it up with a lick of paint, Tidying up the cage mounts and welds, Fitting the new dash, Changing the tapered driveshaft for a flat one (damn you Eurocarparts!) and replacing yet another wheel bearing!! After all that is done, I may see if I can get the engine out and do some work in the bay. It needs a little welding, a lot of sanding down and some paint going back in. I was thinking whether to stitch weld it while it's in bits... any ideas if it's worth doing?
The driveshaft ecp supplied me eventually after many fuck ups was a tapered one. Stupid me didn't realise until I got to Alex's and we stripped it down to investigate a funny noise it had made all the way their. The shaft is fine so I might be able to sell or swap it with someone in the same boat... chances are though i'll end up with it sat here rusting and have to buy a new one again! Luckily I found a wheel bearing in a box of stuff that I was going to have fitted to the old vtr... I just hope thats the right one as well! lol.
So there we go... Up to date for a bit.

Here's a few pics from this weekend then.
Went out for a blast through the runway tunnels at Manchester Airport. Stopped for the obligatory McDonald's car park photos!
Then one at the end of the tunnels checking the cars were still in one piece!
Then parked her up for the final time before the tax ran out on Sunday evening.
Then today I got an hour or so to get some of the interior out.
Managed to get the seats and cage out along with the harness and most of the dash is undone ready to be taken out through the week. Once everything is out I can tidy up the welding that was done and giver everything another lick of paint. Then a nice 106 dash is set to go back in with a few track inspired mods.
I'm in two minds whether to get some perspex to replace the sunroof with as well as the rear windows.
I need to figure out what I want to do with this little beauty as well!!
