So, the time has come...

Luckily, I was sat down, driving home from Silverstone earlier today when John phoned to tell me the provisional bill. He's still trying to remember some components that have been fitted.

I'm heading up to spend the day at GMC tomorrow. Ive not decided whether to set off tonight, or at some stupid time in the morning. I'll be taking plenty of pics and get some videos on the rolling road, then pay the bill and tootle back home. I'll then arrange for a dude with a trailor to pick my car up - hopefully I'll get it back before the weekend.

Provisional list of things I need to sort once its home: -

- brake setup... either smaller discs/calipers or smaller diameter master cyclinders to improve brake feel/performance without servo.
- front/rear bumpers... flare std bumpers to suit arches.
- engine bay... tidy up pipework and re-paint bulk head now that servo is removed.
- loom/wiring... minimise loom in the engine bay
- interior... sort out braided fuel lines and repaint fully stripped interior
- fit Safetydevices front roll cage
- new tyres and possibly smaller alloys
- new steering wheel
- select new exhaust as I think the 4" Apexi has probably served its purpose
- decide whether suspension upgrade is happening this year or next!

Jeeeeeezzzzzzz.... this has already cost a small fortune and looking at the list above, there's a fair way yet to go!

I know how you feel - the cash outlay seems to be never ending! But you have to think of the end product

Will be good to see it all up and running though

Counting down the days til its return home now then

WIll be awesome, certainly plentyof bits left to keep you busy too.

Question for you though - how do/will the brakes perform without the servo? Have you had some form of pedal box fitted/where does the MC go without the servo there?

Something im very curious about too with wanting to rip out all my existing brake setup and re-do the whole lot over winter.

Easiest way to place the m/c without the servo is to make up an adapter plate to mimic the servo then just bolt it straight on.
Pedal boxes are the dogs. But £500 is a lot of money

Simply removing the servo will give a very stiff pedal I would think. I've opted for a twin master cylinder setup and modified the leverage. Still need to play around with the setup further.

I've found some big name brake manufacturers to be pretty awful at helping with spec on a modified setup, which is why it's back to the drawing board for mine.

OBP do a complete setup. m/c's box, adjuster bar with dash mounted adjuster wheel, lines, reservoirs. All for the saxo so bolts on and has the footwell angle taken into account.

Yes, they do... to suit a std Saxo brake setup. But they dont wish to advise on spec for modified setups. This is partly why I need to consider moving to less stupidly sized disc/caliper areas, before fettling the brake setup properly.

I'll know better which way I need to move once I get to feel the brakes tomorrow.

I have seen other pedal boxes with multiblock connectors, so the leverage and progression of each pedal can be adjusted. Would be good to look into. OBP, Tilton, AP
