Bump.

Upgrade time for me too. Galaxy S4 was offered for 37 a month or stick to my 27 a month and pay 150 quid but what are they like?

I've been told the S4 is pretty much the same as the S3, just slightly different insides..

I cba starting a new thread, but I'm due for an upgrade whenever I want - but I don't know what to get!! Got an iPhone 4 at the mo which I do like, but I'm not sure I want to get a 5 as, lets face it, same phone but slightly better camera and screen and that's probably about it!

I've had a quick look at the Sony Xperia Z, Samsung Galaxy s4 and that's about it. Anyone know anything about these? I like the idea of the Sony being dust and splash proof and it sounds like it has a good camera.

But I'm still undecided. Please help.

I have a HTC ONE..... amazing. That is all.

1.7GHZ quad core, AMAZING sound quality, Like loud clear and punchy.

Camera is great has some lovely functions " Highlights " is one of the best functions in terms of " here's what happened last night ". It just puts all pics from one day in a cool montage with FX and music.

There are some really amazing editing functions on the camera.

HDR video is just wow. The video is clear but even more important the sound is just class. When you record loud gigs or outside wind there is Zero distortion and its like your there again. That was important to me, the amount of times i've recorded that special moment at a gig and its just full of SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. ( cough samsung phones cough ). The S3 was bollocks for this, don't get one.

The screen is also amazingly vivid.

S3 - old now

S4 - Same as 3 bigger screen not worth money

Xperia Z - Almost got this but apparently its laggy and waterproof indicators flag up ...... so it appears its not so water proof after all.

Blackberry - Well, just no. They marketed it as a camera phone. I've heard its crap.

HTC One - HTC have gone "all out" on this device and it shows - Premium design metal chassis, best screen PPI out, Best music player fast as fuck 2 gig RAM.... go buy it.

Dont pay 35 a month ..... I got mine from Mobilephonesdirect on TMobile for 26 a month, unlimited everything apart from minutes. ( 500 )

I'd agree with Carl, if you aren't feeling the iphone, the HTC ONE is the best phone.. Had a go on my mates the other day and it really is just awesome!

Wow didn't even consider a HTC. a mate had one a while back and it was crap, screen wasnt clear and was always freezing.

I'm off to go do some research on it though!

They HTC ONE is an awesome bit of kit.. I'd have one, maybe not over an iphone but thats my preference, but really are an awesome phone! Specially the sound quality!

I have an iPhone 5 as my work mobile and my Samsung Galaxy Note as my personal phone. Still find myself picking up the Samsung if I want to do anything. Especially now that JellyBean has been released for it.

You have had iphones before haven't you kregg? I always think if you have had an iphone for a while, you pick something different up to use if you have the option. iOS gets a bit boring after a while!

Yeah had 3GS and 4 then got my Note. Even now I have the 5 as well, like you say iOS is a bit "bland".

JellyBean excites me more.

This is exactly what I'm starting to think - if I got and iphone 5, its pretty much the same as a 4. Even though I do like it and like how easy it is to use, I want to try something else. Just not sure if I'm going to to regret it.

Ive looked at the HTC one and I've decided its either that or an iphone 5. My 4 still works well even though its smashed to bits, and I've had it 2 years, I don't want to get a HTC and after 6 months it starts freezing and fucks up.

Ask around your friends to see if they have one, so they can give you a go.. Failing that, go into a shop and show interest, they will have one for you to play on!

Tried that, don't know anyone with one! lol I'm planning on going to the orange shop tomorrow to have a play on them.

I had the original HTC HD way back in the days before I had iPhones and back then they were top quality, however they seemed to cheapen themselves for a while but seem to be back on top of their game again.

Yeah, has google maps and navigation on, well impressed with it. Helped me going round Manchester yesterday.

never bothered about phones. Old HTC was average, never got top of range phone but have this time and seriously impressed
