Default Engine issue :/

I recently got a saxo which my dad replaced the engine in and it has been working fine for a few months but has recently started to do weird things, The engine managment light sometimes comes on, the battery light flickers on and off also sometimes and the last couple of days the engine has had trouble starting. I turn the key and it turns the engine off and sometimes it will start and stop and other times it wont so i will try again and it may start its happened both when cold and warm, what could this be? ive been runing the tank down till the reserve light comes on could this posibly pull crap into the fuel system? thanks guys

Yeah alternator seems the likely cause which is affecting the battery.

also another thing is their was a key symbol that was flashing on the dash, dad said it may be because of the battery it lost the key code or something, Its stopped coming on now though and started ok, could it be possible that my sub and amp are draining my battery? causing the problem or should the altenator easly handle that, thanks guys

Hmm mine dose it about 2-3 times every morning. Once I'm started it once in the day it won't do it again, it's only after it's bee sitting like over night. I thought it was the immobilizer light lol.

So I've heard if you do it while it's running just like you do to unlock an ECU. I was going to unplug mine but then it stopped being so bad, like I said now it only does it a few times in the morning. If it's really that bad try it, just plug it back in if it doesn't work mate.

Apparently yeh. But I have a feeling yours might do what mine did, get really bed then one day it'll just not do it for ages then once in a while it will, or maybe once or twice of a morning. My other Saxo dose it too so it must be a normal thing lol.

It is the immobliser light. Had this issue after swapping engines. Not sure why yours would be doing it.
