I've tried calling John today but he's on the other phone line. The last I heard from John last week was that the engine and everything was built up, fitted and it looked like a car again!
I would imagine the engine has been fired up this week, then mapping, etc will follow. When I get to speak with john, I'll update progress

ooooo not long left now then! going to persuade him to record the firing? or are you just going to leave him to it?
are you planning on going to the mapping?

John & sharing photos, etc don't exactly go hand in hand
I'll leave John to get things setup, then go up for a day or two and let him show me the setup on the rollers. Any adjustments can then be agreed and re-worked.
Hopefully John has taken some progress shots for me, as that's what I asked for. Time will tell

Yeah, the car's been gone 8 weeks now. I've not spoken to John for a couple of weeks, so have no further update.
Will try and make time to call tomorrow.

Had a call from John today - the car lives
Rolling road mapping has started, then stopped Just a short delay now that a bottom arm needs replacing. Should have more updates soon

Good to hear that the beast is now back up and running
What sort of power are you looking to get out of it now it has been rebuilt?

Power wise, Im not sure. What ever 1.5bar on forged internals will give. lol I suspect John my have a few teething problems with my Apexi boost controller, so may initially be based on std actuator pressure. Somewhere around 240@wheels would be nice and still probably too much to explode the box
Will treck up there when the time is right.

There should be a photo of my arrangement a few pages back, when I re-did the oil lines.

Sorry peeps - I've not spoken to John for a few weeks. Last I knew the rolling road tuning had started, but a wishbone needed to be replaced. That should have been done last week.
Will try and call GMC tomorrow. Started a new job and am trying to handover my old job to someone else, so spare time during normal working hours is a luxury I don't currently have

Just so you know the 1.1 box and gti box are simular dude.. The VTR box has pretty long gears though.
See this thread
http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...ght=gear+ratio
I think Simo uses the 1.1 boxes as his vts eats them up and they're cheap to replace.
Any updates Simo?
