My Phone
I woke up an hour ago, was looking at my phone and replying to a text, fell back asleep and woke up about ten minutes ago and the screen on my phone has cracked, like the inside of it. The phone is not even two months old yet, do u think i should take it back and see if i can get it fixed? Would they wipe my phone memory if i did? Im so annoyed and not happy!!!! Any help would be appreciated

more than likely you'll just be offered a new fone if its contract. Whether its possible to transfer the contents of the memory is a different matter.
From experience in the past....its not normally possible

Yeah thats what i thought. Ive just read up on it and apparently the screen cracked on a saumsung d900 happens a lot

They should replace it but some places wont unless its insured. They will probably have to wipe the memory yes, try and save what you can on the computer or sim card.

When i cracked my screen on my orange contract phone they were not interested at all as i didn't have insurance, It was a samsung D500.
I had the same thing happen as you, i texted someone, put it on the side and when i woke up in the moring the screen was bust???
Anyway i got the number for samsung from orange customer care, gave them a ring and they were very helpfull.
Sent me a prepaid special delivery envelope and said that they would repair it and send it back within 3-5 days (which they did).
They did state that if it was obvious abuse then a repair charge might apply, but it turned out the repair didn't cost me a penny
They did say that all info 'could' be lost from the phone, but mine came back fine

Just off the phone to orange, they werre quite helpful, they said that because my phone was outta of 28 days and i didnt have insurance that they didnt know if they could help me, she said they would do a diagnostic text on my phone, if that said it was faulty, then they would be able to help me, if not id need to get in contact with samsung. Dianostic test said my phone had a fault and that they could fix it. She then went on to tell me, that i may need to take out emergency cover, with you pay £30 and then £6 a month thereafter for insurance, i was like well i didnt break it, you can tell from your computer its not me, so she spoke to her supervisior, and they aint charging me the £30, but im gonna have to pay £6 every month for insurance, which doesnt bother me, because if the phone is gonna break again, i can just get a new one. So my new phone will be here between 6pm and 10pm woooooo.
Dammit i wish i knew that, i deleted everything because i thought it would disappear anyway

This happened to my sisters one, we bought it from car phone warehouse when we took it back because screen cracked while in her pocket they said it would cost £40 as it was the user fault it cracked, bunch of twats what you supposed to do with your phone put it in a safe and never use it? (This happened with in a month of owning it) so we rang Samsung and all they said was send the phone to us and if we find that its the users fault (which it was but its a shitty design of the screen that allows the user to brake it so easily) then they would send it back and bill us with the postage.
This problem is all over the internet just like the dodgy iPod screen.
