You can't 'tone up' so no. You can reduce body fat which in turn reveals more muscle definition or increase your Muscle mass, i'd stick with ripped up!

You need to work out your daily calorific maintenance requirements based on the following:- (loads of calculators with a google search).

-Age
-Weight
-Sex
-Height
-Training Intensity

Then you want to eat around 500 calories more than your maintenance per day to allow you to lean bulk which will allow you to gain muscle mass with minimal body fat increase.

If you struggle to gain weight then ideally up your calories closer to +1000 more than you require.

No supplement will help you if your diet/training isn't in order, I personally choose a supplement that best suits my daily calorific requirements...

Usually bodybuilding warehouse performance protein if lean bulking.

If your skinny I would concentrate on size before getting ripped up.

Clean eating, consistent training and good amounts of rest is the key.
