Default Saxo brake drum adjustment

Hi, are the citroen saxo brake shoes adjusted automatically? Because when i adjust them by moving the shoe teeth forward for more brake drag over time they release again and the brake pedal goes alot lower and the handbrake when everything is release takes alot of clicks for it to be fully engaged, like 9 clicks. I have been told that this is a common problem. Maybe the adjusters need replacing? Teeth seem fine to me.

Put your foot hard on the brake pedal, then pull the handbrake lever. Release the foot brake, then release the handbrake lever.

then go under the car, adjust the nut on the handbrake cable until the rear wheels drag a little bit on the brake. then that's it.

Best I can think of, they're a pain. I've experienced the Auto Adjuster working as it was supposed to only 1 time in the whole 12 years I've had 106/saxos

Adjusted them as you told me to, they work alot better now and handbrake engages in like 4 clicks before it used to take 9 clicks and felt very loose. Thanks
