+1 working car is better than having a load of money for a car you cant take on track.

suppose you could always pay £800 on several track days and turn up on a pedal bike.

It worked when I saved up the money, When wiring goes or possibly an ecu, its not a simple case of just bolting on new sensor which is what fails on most things.

Not if the garage dont know what they are doing. Should have seen the state of a loom which had been done by a 'specialist' on my old engine. It was a complete mess.
Not many garages are able to deal with a car that they cant just plug into their diagnostic machine.

I haven't actually done my car yet tbh ... Been too busy doing other people's. When I do mine for the FCS prep it'll go on axel stands and i'll do it all properly. Once it's clay bar'd etc I reckon I'll be looking at 8-10 hours of machine polishing. The paint isn't in too bad a state so won't need any heavy cutting compounds or pads. Will use polishing pads with Meg's #83 + CG Scratch and Swirl B+Gone for the swirls. Then it'll need machine polishing on another polishing pad with a decent glaze. Wax will be applied by hand. I reckon 3 full days worth of work for a decent standard.
You don't have to be too careful with a DA polisher because they don't spin on a constant axis, unlike a rotary. Saxo paint seems to hold upto to machine polishing ok. I'd be really careful with something from Honda though with their paint being very soft.

Nice one
Have been thinking about doing it for a while but my father in law was saying you had to be carefull otherwise you can ruin it. But not sure what kind of machine it is he has.
What about on Fiberglass? As my car has quiet a bit of it
Do you have any before and after shots of some you have done? Long shot i know

I'm not sure about Fibreglass tbh ... Never machine polished on it. Might be worth just polishing up hand on that if you're worried about it.
Here's before and after on my friend Joe's Dad Porsche I machine polished ~
Before~
After ~

I really do admire the amount of dedication you have for this car Ferg, much more than me. Ive just spent a small fortune replacing broken bits on mine, otherwise mine would be up there with yours.
If a snetterton day gets booked up let me know, its only round the corner from me. And id love to see this when its cammed and braked up.
