I dont think an S1 box would be practical at all for myself Toad mate. Think it
would seriously piss me off on the motorway, cant stand the noise of the exhaust
as it is.

I like the idea of having a refurbish and strengthened box, so could get the S2
box and tidy it up. Then just sell the GTi box on Egay.

Will have to see, something to do once the cams are sorted.

I'm not in hurry to get a cage. They're expensive! But it's something that I would really like to get eventually. I need to get engine management stuff sorted first.

Cheers again!
not a problem just put the cheque in the post on monday ta

id recommend a cage asap when running buckets tbh.

OK, fair enough. I don't know a lot about them... Any suggestions? I'm thinking white, that's a start, ha! Cheque? Cheeky bugger!

OK Rushy... I think you need to drive one before you make your mind up completely. It's not a massive difference on the motorway, I'll try to explain. Before, if I was sitting at 70mph, I would be at about 3400 rpm in 5th IIRC. Now, if I'm doing 70mph, it's at 4000 rpm. That's not major if you know what I mean...?

Dont even know if I will be able to afford them the way things are going! I just
thought the car would be screaming at 75mph. I was looking at the graphs
on SSC and wasn't impressed! (practicality wise I mean)

depends on your budget mate.

SD cages are the premium ones. if not OMP do cheaper ones that need painting.

box sections need welding in for both.

Sit further from the screen...

There's one pic in there where it's not a close up I think...

Toad - for cages i think rowlands race rally do the omp cages, and irc theyre cheaper then YB fuck ups.

if you must order an omp one from 106racing/yb etc.... make sure you allow a few months for the fuck ups that will usually happen
