Im relucatant to post in here as i dont have any links to back me up either but i have noticed a faily big increase in thread locking and i few times throught to myself it was quite at 'thread locking' stage.
This is coming from someone who is forever reporting threads & posts for rule breaking too, it feels much more suppressed now, less friendly/social. (And to the big bro is watching you comment. Big brother is suppose to be friendly this year thats why the logo is all colourful - yeh i read that in the missus' mag )
By all means keep locking the spam threads as there seem to have been a surge in "post as many photos as you can find" threads in the past few days.
Anyway thats my 5 dollars & 50 cents

nah, not today leckie. lol
i dont think you've been trigger happy
probably just as barrett said, you're all getting used to your new powers. like getting your first car.. thats all you do, drive.. so when you get your first mod power, thats all you do.. lock and delete

Right im forming the saxp users union, i say we go on strike
Lets form a democracy where useres can vote on a thread being locked
Waging warn on the pinkies is a good way to have your post count reduced ads

If people feel that threads have been locked, or deleted unfairly then users should PM the mods and let us know. All PMs recieved in this manner will be confidential, and the issues will be addressed.

hahaha.
no way im a waging war... obviously there is a fine line between good, honest, decent spam and bollocks spam. if the jovial persona of saxp gets clamped down upon it wont be half as fun to be member, thats all Im saying, im certainly not targeting any (mini)mods in particular.

Agreed. Theirs car clubs and theirs communities. Communities have personalities, car clubs are simply a knowledge base.
Saxp is definatly a community & so some of the spam in general chat should be allowed, its how people get to know people. Of course the SPAM is sometimes utter tripe and should be locked but its good to get to know people thus encouraging bigger turn outs for shows & meets & just generally increaseing member participation.
To quote from gen chat itself : " This forum is for general chit-chat, banter, exchange of information, etc. Pretty much everything goes... within reason!"
Maybe it should read " This forum is for a little bit of general chit-chat, a small amount of banter, the odd exchange of information, etc. Pretty much not much goes... with reason!"
P.S. That last part was a joke
