im looking at getting a mid range lens.
for a 2.8, most people have suggested a 17-50 Tamron, so im looking out for one of those

Honestly its the slowest focussing, daftest externally rotating lens ive ever had the misforune of owning.
I bought it, decided it was crap, put it away for a year, decided id then rather sell it lol

i paid 480 for mine brand new
i went for the canon f4 over the sigma 2.8 because of the weight in the end plus the fact i cant see me using 2.8. Lugging that big mother around would be a pain in the ass.

i picked my canon 70-200 F4 for £300 as new condition with warrenty and a kenko x1.4 teleconvertor for £28 lol. I got them both at bargain prices and now the cost of both canon and nikon stuff seems to be a lot more than it was this time last year

yeah. you complain about the weight all the time. With the f/4 it's much light and you can carry it around all day.
