Well the gallery formerly of turnmills had its grand launch last night at the ministry of sound, i did the closing weekend at turnmills and so the group approached me about being the new official photographer for the gallery events.

Obviously i said yes as this is one of the biggest events in london *and the uk* and couldnt wait to get in there and step my game up.

Sayer has done some nice work recently and so i used this opportunity to try and also get him some experience of a better venue and generally give him a nice addition on his cv.

The night was a very big night and to say there was a bit of nervousness by us both wouldnt be an understatement, although sayer appeared to be shitting himself more

Yep checking he hasnt just crapped himself lol!

Obviously because we were on official business it was acess all areas vip etc... so generally great. And because i was employed by the club i cannot leak any pics i took of armin van burren, tall paul, judge jules etc... but thought it would be funny to show our gormless mugs in the dj booth and be a bit of an ASW to be honest.

Next week ive got a 3hour set with paul van dyk to cover, and going to try and get sayer back in assisting me.

Anyway got a bit of processing to do so we can get images to the club, and im sure ill release some one the official pics have nee used by the club for the press and web work they want.

I cant wait to show em to be honest, got some absolute corkers.

i take it you have not put these shots on the cd i need to give to the gallery?

I need to sift through 2mo and give them the useable stuff and then i can play about with other shit

Think 8mm fisheye and 580 shall be ordered for next week bo

well last night i was chatting with tall paul in the VIP area as id spoken to him at the closing of turnmills, then had a few words with armin in the area behind the dj booth later on in the night.

I bloody love it, i just thought it was the perfect opportunity to try and help sayer out aswell. Espec as i wont be able to do every week due to other commitments and so i need to send in a photographer to cover me who i can trust.

. Everyone would love it lol. Sounds really good as well, i'm guessing you get paid a decent amount for it? Are you allowed to drink when your there (within reason) or is it like being at work lol?

Had some free vouchers for drinks last night, when i did turnmills i was totally mashed but then again i was sobre by the time i left at 2pm lol!!

As ive just got the status at ministry trying to negotiate how much im gonna be invoicing them for. The main thing is atm getting a bigger profile out there.

i need a fisheye.

any idea what id need for crowd shots diagonal or circular?

an example of 10-20 work, i want similar effect but obviously more empahsized.

mmm i would have thought you would have got more distortion than that, i have a mate that uses a sigma 10mm fisheye for automotive stuff and it is distorted a lot. i am not sure if his camera is a full frame slr as obviously 20mm is 32mm on non full frame canons which isnt very wide at all

mine is the 10-20 so not a designated fisheye.

just wondering what one i should go for, thinking 8mm but diagonal or circular hmm

forgot to add his is a 180 degree diagonal...non rectilinear so it is expected to bend like a banana

180 degree diagonal is what the 10mm sigma is irc. that i did look at.

obviously its the same 10mm as 10-20 but the glass will be more designed for a fisheye effect id hope.
as thats the effect i want in the club mostly for my dj to crowd shots
