ney, those legs look uber thin towards the bottom end mate, although it'll probably be good in terms of lateral and longitudinal stability... it'll have lots of rotational instability. The less telescopic legs, the better as a general rule.

As said before.... Look at Telescope tripods. They're usually cheaper and stiffer for a set price.

for the price you wont find one better, the quality is actually pretty decent, even comes in its own bag and easily rivals £50 jessops ones

3 telescopic legs as opposed to 384980980 for the manfrotto = much stiffer

Manfrotto dick all over Redsnapper.

You really do get what you pay for with tripods, generally the more expensive they are then then more weight they can take and the sturdier they will be. Gitzo are the dogs but they're real expensive so I'd settle with Manfrotto.

I'd buy a tripod that you can interchange heads so you can buy more heads if you upgrade to a larger heavier camera. If you buy a tripod like this you'll need to buy two sections: legs and a head.

These are the legs I've got (Manfrotto 190XPROB Pro Tripod):

They're around £100 and worth every penny. They are very sturdy and the center column can be used in a vertical or horizontal position for landscape or portrait photographs. They're are loads of heads to choose from and it really does depend on what suits you. I use a ball head that gives you complete freedom but you can also get pan/tilt heads which do exactly what they say on the tin (pan and tilt).

This head will be fine if you have a smallish DSLR (Manfrotto 484 Mini Ball Head + Quick Release Plate):

If you're on a buget Jessops do a good bundle deal with the legs I mentioned (£127):

PICS ARE LINKED

Don't buy some shit tripod with the legs and head built into one made of plastic, you'll regret it and they won't last you 2 days.

how you can say that redsnapper gets "dicked on" by manfrotto, to get a tripod thats the similar spec to the snapper costs £150+ form manfrotto, those leg clips look gash, the snapper has internal screw legs to no external fittings.

all entitled to out own opinion, but have you ever used a redsnapper ?

i paid £45 for my snapper as i got discount being a member on talkphotography.com, then i won a 45mm ball head on ebay for about £8

here are some shots i took in my light tent

legs and head come to £100 though which is more than i am prepared to pay.

the one i linked in my first post, a mate back home has got one, so ill try it out when i next see him. will probably end up getting that if it works well as its nice a cheap. lol

if i could get it for about 60-70 then i would be happy...
