Cillit bang you say?? Hmm... Might just work.

Going to let them air dry for a bit and then have another go at them.

Might give that stuff a try.

Well, after a long time coming the VTR shell is finally all gone.

I tried to sell as many parts as possible before scraping what was left. Today, my mate came over with his big van, we attacked the shell with an angle grinder to get it in, then we loaded it all up and took it off to the scrap yard down the road where I got a nice cool £20 for it!!!

Would have made more from selling it as a spares or repairs to the car breakers I bet! lol.

Ahh well, all done now. Just got to send off the V5 to the DVLA then S32 CTN will be no more.

Heres a few photos from this mornings work.

We took this:

Did this to it:

Then fit it all in the van like this:

Which left the yard like this:

Hopefully the baby will start to settle down a bit now so I can get back into getting this going again.

In other news, I don't work for Chubb anymore so I MAY be able to get it insured and on the road soon

I almost did but to be honest, all the scrapies round here are owned by the same few guys so they would have rung around and told them to only offer me £15 so i'd have gone back them. Done it to a few of my mates before lol.

Main thing is, it's all gone and I have some space to play in now Can't wait to get some turf down. Hopefully I'll get that done soon.

Tomorrow, I'm going to get the yard swept out and all the nuts and bolts out of the way, then I'll be pouring a load of Jeyes fluid on it and giving it a just brush, then rinsing it all away with the pressure washer. Should have a nice clean yard for a bit then

The next trackday jaunt is booked.

31st October at Oulton Park!!

Can't wait!

I've been itching to get on that track for a while now as it's about 10 minutes drive from my parents house. I might even stop their the night before.

Just need to put the front end back together, Refit the slimline, lightweight battery, refit T.D. 1.2's, Job done.

Get to test out my new helmet too.

Also, I've decided to put the normal software back on my phone so the track recorder software will work properly again!

Well, managed to get a little bit done on the car.

FINALLY managed to fit my super-dooper-budget race battery.

Then got the little grills fitted to the morettes and trial fitted them. Looks like Halfrauds can't mix paint correctly as they are a bit brighter than the bonnet paint. I should have just left them alone

Should have another bit of an update on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning

Today has been one of my better days!!

Had an invitation to go up to Blackburn for an informal chat about the possibility of working for another large fire alarm company.

Left an hour later with a job offer!! WELL CHUFFED!!!

This means that hopefully i'll be able to get the car on the road soon. I just need to sort the tax, insurance and MOT out!!!

Any way, I got back from that and the health visitor came round to check the baby over, she's all good and is now a whopping 10lb 4oz!! so in 4 weeks she's put on 3 1/2 lb ish!!

After that, Nic decided that her and Tilly were going to come for a very long drive with me. We went all the way down to Gloucester and came back with these:

So the car is now chucked full of wheels!!

Managed to get 5 minutes this evening to test fit these:

And these:

The wheels are meant to be ford fitment BUT they don't go over the bore adapter part of my spacers. They seem to taper from the ford size to the Citroen size. I'm going to check them tomorrow to see if they have a shim stuck in or if they are made like this. If they are just made like that, I may have to get either spacers with no bore adapter or find the correct bore adapting spacers.... OR, just use the VTR rims. I wanted to use these though as their a little lighter and use tapered nuts like the T.D's so I could use the T.D's as road wheels still and have these as track wheels.

The wheels were off a Striker kit car so I might try and do a bit of research on them to see what wheel dimensions they use.

Yeah I did think about that. especially after i'd done this red on them and it's a different shade!!!! I thought the other day though, it might just be that the body work need a good machine polish that makes it look different.

My phone is currently hacked and running a newer version of android that for some reason corrupts all my aLapRecrder and Carcam videos. I'll be switching it back to the old version this week though and testing it out before going on the track. Their should be plenty of video's and hopefully so semi-pro, front and rear shots as i'll be fitting a cheap rear facing camera so you can see people overtaking me better!!

I've wanted to do the conversion for a while and I thought that with the wheels I'd just got, it would be ideal as the T.D's and the new ones are tapered nut fitments. so it saves me needing 2 types of nut. I can't figure out though why the new wheels have a tapered bore and the others don't. I may need to get some more spacers with a tapered bore and have them fixed to the wheels for ease of changing.... not that it's an issue at the moment as the car will be off the road for a while longer.

I found a lad selling the studs on here for cheap then I got the bolts I needed from demon tweeks when I was working in there the other month.

To be honest, I keep toying with the idea of a total colour change... Just a rattle can job so I'm not arsed if it get's bumped and at least I can touch it up easily enough.

I think I'll try and borrow my mates machine polisher at the weekend and see what magic I can work on it.

I had considered matte black or satin black but I think it's been done to death now, along with chalkboard paint. If I were going to do it, it would be a bit of a surprise. I've seen a few cars done the similar style to what i'd do but I'd try and do mine a bit better/different.

I'll try a machine polish on it and see if it's just lacquer fade first then I might change it later in the year if I do it at all.

Might just fully strip it, seam weld bits, sort any rust, seal the underside and get the shell done Mauritius blue.... I do miss that colour!!!

i like the ideas mate, can't wait to get the keys to my new garage and be able to strip mine right down and rebuild it but replace every nut, bolt and washer and paint it all again lol

what colour would you spray the inside if its stripped out? (i've gone for satin black i think looks good to )

Probably the same colour as the outside. I was thinking of black interior but after seeing a few stripped and track prepared cars done all the same colour i prefer it all the same... More like a proper race car.
